Airmiles and Universal Orlando Tix

If I redeem my airmiles for Universal Orlando base 1 day tickets, can I upgrade these tickets like the Disney tickets?

I've been trying to search for an answer but haven't found a clear answer. Anyone have any experience with these tickets?

I was there on May 12th. I had 3 airmiles passes and 1 from CAA. The airmiles were little thick papper ones about the size of a credit car and the CAA one was like a large coupon. I inquired about upgrading and the employee I spoke to said he could do the CAA one but NOT the airmiles one. I had gotten the CAA one by transfering my Petro Points but it didnt matter, in his eyes they were different so MY personal experience was that they will not upgrade them

I can also offer my input.
Last year, I also wanted to redeem a 1 day ticket and upgrade to a 2 day hopper one.
I called Universal Orlando myself and they told me it was not possible (differently from Disney, where I did this without a problem. I went from a 3 day to a 4 day paying 8 dollars a ticket if I am not mistaken).
I ended up saving more airmiles and got ourselves the 2-day tickets via Airmiles a month prior to the trip.

Good to know. I had the same question, and called Universal. They said they could only be upgraded if they have a cash value printed on them. So, I guess they don't?

No there is no cash value listed on the Universal tickets you receive from Airmiles. It just says for how many days it is good for and if it is a Park to Park ticket.
