I have enough Airmiles to get a 7 days pass for an adult and a child. We have another child base 7days we got from Airmiles about 2 years ago.

We bought tickets on Airtransat on the direct from Moncton flight for the end of March, 2015. We have to decide if we are going to stay on sight or off. We have a 7 and a 3 year old. The most I can see us doing with our 3 year old is 3 days. We don't want to waste our tickets, so just wondering if we can still make the tickets non expiring if we do not use all of the days.

I still need to get a better understanding of MDE and the changes. We have not been to Disney since 2011 and so much has changed since then!

It would be expensive to make your tickets non expiring .... ie it may cost you $250 to $300 per person to do so. (someone else here may know a more accurate number) Since I have traveled with a 3 and 5 year old may I suggest that you just do half days in the parks using fasspass+, then do the pool etc back at the resort in the other half of the day. Thus avoiding kid meltdown?

Yes, you can make the tickets non expiring. I've done it many times in the past with AM tickets....but won't be doing it anymore. It has become waaaaay too expensive to add the NE option. I'm on the verge of ordering tickets for my March trip (even though I have left over NE tickets) but will only order either the 3 day or the 5 day. I'm going to save my NE tickets for a time when I don't have enough AM. If I were to get a 3 day and then upgrade to a 7 or even 10 day NE (which is what I've always done in the past) the cost would be over $700 for 2 tickets.

My advice would be to order the 3 day tickets and then add additional days should you need them as the cost would be very low. As to the other 7 day ticket you have, I would pay the fee to make only that one NE but only after you know you are finished going to the parks.

Ted, you are in the right ballpark on the cost of adding NE. The half day idea is also a good one. I would visit the parks early morning and then spend the afternoon at the resort. If the kids are in a good state then head back to the parks around dinner time for as long as they can take it. I would also suggest visiting on alternate days. Several days in a row is overload for little ones...IMO.

my 2.5 year old did 6 days in the parks (they weren't full days)..don't underestimate kids, its a different world there, and our little guy would fall asleep in the stroller if he was super tired..and along we went. :)

Some kids will be fantastic and just take it all in stride. For other kids, it's total sensory overload.

In the past we started buying 3-5 day passes for all 4 family members but we soon realized that we were making multiple trips to WDW within a couple of years so we started to buy 10 base ticket with no expiration. Then we started to go even more within a year and I did the cost compassion and discovered that buying an AP worked out cheaper for us.

Here is our breakdown of cost. This may not work fro everyone but it sure does for us, considering how many times we visit within a year. It really gives us flexibility and helps manage the year budget for all WDW vacations.

Like I said, may not work for everyone one but it is another options to consider and it may be worth a bit of time to do a little math to see if it will work for you.

Hope this helps
