I'm thinking of a trip to WDW in early Dec. and would be flying with my dd, 12, and ds, 7. My USAir flight would originate in Wilkes Barre/Scranton with a layover in either Philly or Pittsburgh. After reading some horror seating assignment stories, would I be assured 3 seats together when I book the flight? I wouldn't want either child to be seated away from me.I've only flown once before so I'm a novice at this. Thanks for any help!

definitely get your seats together when you book the flight, then make sure that you check the flight a couple of times before you leave.

Our "boys" are grown now, but in all the times we've flown, we managed to get 3 seats together and 2 together, either behind each other or across the aisle. However, I've seen people actually trade places in order for families to sit close together. We made our reservations in January and got seat assignments then for our November flights. But we also went to the Washington County regional airport just last weekend to double check, since there have been so many changes. You might be able to get them assigned right away. Since some flights out of the smaller airports have been discontinued, at least for now, some will fill up faster. Good luck and have a great time.

We usually get our seats together, but every time we fly the Orlando-Pittsburgh route we usually have one seat in row 6, one seat in row 14, one seat in row 22 and one seat in row 30! Our MCO-PIT flight is sold out at this point in January, and of course there are no seats together! (btw, we always get seat assignments when we book, and we are always assigned seats together, but then we always end up getting our seats seperate months in advance! Thanks USAirways!)

Don't pass up or surrender a choice non-stop flight or a flight at the time you like just because you can't get seats together!

No need to call every day, once a week is more than enough. ALso if possible, get some kind of seat assigned as soon as possible, then ask for changes. If not, let it go down to the wire, ask again at the gate but take whatever they give you.

Mind you, the airline will almost bend over backwards to make sure your young children sit near you, also other pax will gladly switch seats if you ask quietly at the last minute.

I would not really press the importance of seats together on the same phone call as making my reservation, I don't want to give them the opportunity to say the flight is not available because of lack of consecutive seats.
