We have our tickets bought for Disney and our reservations and dining and our flight tickets were purchased and the car rental for our Nov. 28-Dec. 4 trip. Our flight was to be a direct from an Illinois airport to Orlando airport. Well now they informed us yesterday that they are no longer doing that flight even though we paid for it. We are now bumped to a flight that leaves an hour earlier and takes us to Atlanta for a two and half hour lay over and then takes another hour to get to Orlando. So what was to begin with was a little over two hour flight direct to Orlando is now making us leave an hour earlier and getting us to the magic later and taking us much longer. Isn't that a big bummer!!!!!!!!!! :confused3

Do they have any other non stops that get you there quicker?
If they do you should be able to get them to put you on there and wave the fee for changing flights. It's still early.

Looks at the airlines schedules on the website and see if there's a better route for you.

Tht is a bummer.

herc.

If the time your lfight lands is two hours later than the original ticketed time you should be allowed to cancel for a full refund. You can then rebook on another airline.

Airlines routinely change flights and times. You should never make plans for a must do dinner or experience your first night for this reason.

I once booked a nonstop flight from Indy to Orlando (roughly a two hour flight) and it got changed so that I had a layover in BALTIMORE each way!!! Like an idiot I didn't cancel it and ended up taking five hours to get there and eight to get home because we had such a long layover in Baltimore.

On my upcoming flight in May, the airline moved our flight UP an hour---we get to WDW an hour earlier :woohoo: :woohoo: !

I would look for a better flight and cancel the original if I find one.

We checked back with airline and they said that they are doing away with the direct flights as there was not enough interest so now they have direct to Atlanta. Hence the layover there for an hour or so and then the extra time to ORlando. Just hate the fact we were on a shorter flight and quicker to the Magic and now it is longer trip and will have less time at Disney the first day. Plus we are traveling with a 20 month old. A two hour flight would have suited her just fine. This is going to be a hassle. We got the flights for $180 a piece round trip which was a great price either way we go so hate to try and rebook something now as the prices are high. So I guess we are stuck. I just thought I would see if others encountered this problem with their Disney trips.

eeyoresfarmfriend, are you flying AirTran? We are planning on an August trip probably using them. We flew them last Sept and they only had one non-stop per day. We had no problems, but I always hear of others.

Happens every trip to me...I have gotten accustomed to not booking a car for exact flight times, and getting ADR's for 4-5 hours after we are origionally planned to arrive. All airlines are subject to change(except for SWA-but I can not do the waiting game) ;)

We were originally booked on a non-stop for Dec.

They stopped doing that route.

They switched us to a connecting flight through Atlanta, also with a 2 1/2 hour layover.

We were able to get a full refund. Our rate was $203.

I figure if I have to have a layover, I'd rather it not be in Atlanta, and not for that long. I decided to take the chance of booking a better flight, hopefully at a decent price.

We're from IL too. Do you happen to be flying out of Moline on Delta?
