Oil is about $6 a barrel now. Last time the airlines claimed the barrel price made the charge more, it was In the $160 bbl range.

They can just take some of the dam profits they make from luggage and seat charges, to cover increased costs.

I bought tickets today when the July flights I was watching dropped over $100 a person.

I am hoping for decent prices this year. I usually fly Frontier and usually pay less than $100 each way from PHL to MCO. Sometimes I get lucky and catch a $49 deal....not often but I am hopeful the same will happen this year. The other day on the radio I heard that the big carriers are going to compete harder with the discount airlines this year. They are losing a lot of business to the discount airlines for flights less than 3 hours long. I am hopeful to see some larger airlines compete for PHL to MCO flights this year. I am keeping my fingers crossed !!!

price of tickets on Delta, United and AA for Dec 2018 are double what they were at this time last year. They are close to 1st class. But 1st class is only up $100.

I’m doing pretty good so far for 2018. Still waiting for September and November to be released. It also helps when you can choose between several airports. However, for everything I save on airfare, I’m paying it on rental cars, they continue to be a lot higher lately.

From PIT to MCO this Jan, spirit offered $24 to & $19 back non fare club. Did have to pay $30 x 2 for a ckd bag each way

Have a spirit $19 flight down via fare club on 2/13, SWA back using points approx $50 (booked it when schedule released end of 7/17)

April/May SWA $133 to $72 back (booked 12/17)

June/July on points approx $80 each way (booked 11/17).

Often the key is to book the inconvenient flights that have dropped in price a bit after schedule was released ...5 am or 9 pm to get best price
