Hello all!

We have booked our trip back home for next August. We will be staying in WL from Aug 13th through Aug 23.

Hopefully before then, I will have a new job (more money, more hours, and the return of my sanity believe it or not). We drove down this past year, and the plan was to drive down again. However, if I do land this new job, I will need to fly since I don't want to take that much time off (I ended up being away from my desk for almost 3.5 weeks due to the start of school as well).

When will I generally be able to see airfare for that part of the year? And what airport tends to be the "less expensive" one to fly out of? We live in Western CT so we can go to the major NY airports, as well as Newark and if it means saving a ton of money, Boston and Providence would be considered.

Thank you!

Most legacy airlines will allow you to book up to 331 days in advance. Discount airlines like Southwest tend to open up their schedules with lead time.

I don't think that any single airport tends to be cheaper than another. It's more a matter of which airlines fly out of those airports, what additional costs you might incur by choosing an airport further from your home and whether you can get desirable flight times when booking out of those airports.

I have flow out of white plains because it was a lot cheaper then bradley or NYC airports.

The past few years bradley has been cheaper for us but we have been flying to Ft. Myers vs Orlando.

We are in Central Mass. and have flown out of almost all the airports within driving distance at one time or another. The last couple years, however,Bradley has been the cheapest for when we needed to fly. We are going to Florida Christmas week and for Feb. school vacation and both times Bradley was cheaper than the others. We also fly Southwest, however. But in checking prices, Bradley still won out for us.

If you have a particular airline that you like to fly, I would recommend booking the minute your dates are released. Most times it seems that those are when the rates are the cheapest.

Hope this helps!

Flying into Tampa is sometimes cheaper and a very easy drive to WDW. Only take an addition 40 minutes when you factor in it take 35 minutes from MCO to WDW.

I recommend buying early. I am in MA and could have bought delta last fall for $2000 from Logan airport. I was waiting for jet blue because my DH has points. The day jet blue released, the prices were low from Logan. We were out so I did not buy and then they went up. I was unsure what to do since this is my first time flying in several years so I waited and they kept increasing.

I ended up buying southwest out of Manchester for just under $2000 for 4 the day they released and I am so glad I did because their fares kept increasing too.
