I purchased airfare from Spirit Airlines and now the price is lower. does anyone know if I can get my money back? I cannot find it on their website.

1. Read your confirmation letter closely. It may state that the fare is nonrefundable.

2. Some airlines may allow you a credit for the reduction in price, but it must be used within a year of the date of original purchase.

3. If they do allow you to get a refund, iot pay be partially offset by a "change fee".

I believe that Sprint is one of those airlines that will not do anything for you if the price drops. They do not offer refundable fairs. They will not give you refund for the difference or give you a credit. If you do cancel your flight, you only have 60 days to rebook and you will be charged a change fee. That change fee is over $100.

Does Spirit offer refundable fares?
System Apr 23

No, in order to keep our fares extremely low, we do not offer refundable fares. We do allow you to change a reservation if needed for a fee. Additionally, we are unable to refund any fare differences once a reservation is purchased. Refunds are allowed for reservations made 7 days or more prior to your departure, provided that you make the refund request within 24 hours of your initial reservation.

I found it by clicking on the Help link on the home page, then scrolling down the list of help topics to General Information.

Apparently you aren't real familiar with Spirit. They don't do customer service. I can't imagine any circumstances where you will get your "money back"

Now, that's true of a lot of airlines. Generally it's limited as to what any airline will do and even those that give "credit" don't give money back, they give credit for future travel.

What's funny to me is the 'to keep our fares extremely low" part..not even true anymore. Their fares are not much better than any of the other airlines here and when you add in all the costs they are usually higher..I think they are crazy to think they can keep using that explanation
