We usually go to Orlando in Jan. so we have got airfare for $79 each way. We are now planning a late March trip and I don't know if I should wait for Jetblues rates to come out or pay the $179 each way on Delta Song. I have heard that the prices get high for March. Easter is mid april this year so I am hoping that March won't be a really high demand time. What do you think? :confused3

I'd wait for JetBlue or Southwest, they may lure Song to lower their fares too. Does Song give you a refund if they lower their fares towards future flights??

I have flown song many times and will fly them again this weekend. I love the airline. That being said, I booked our Nov. trip on Jetblue. I'm just too afraid that Delta will go bankrupt and leave us all in the lurch. They've been very shaky in the last 6 months.

Many airlines fly for years in and out of bankruptcy. If Delta goes bankrupt it will get more concessions from employees, creditors. But i would still feel safe buying a ticket from them.

I'm going to need to book airfare for to leave 4/29 and return 5/11. Not ever having done that - can you tell me how far in advance you book?

Also - anyone go out of Providence? I'll go Boston or Providence - whoever I can find the cheapest, direct flight...

Thanks!

we fly out of providence and manchester all the time..the rates are great, it is very easy to get in and out of, no hassles at all! We got $49 DIRECT NON STOP manchester to orlando for august--can't beat that!! :flower:

I did too !!!! Just booked this past weekend Southwest Air ...from Manchester NH to Orlando ($49) each way for mid- August !!!! :cool1: Too bad I missed the Dining Plan by 2 Days though....the last day to book that was July 3 and I didn't book until July 5th  Really wish I could still get the FREE Meals included...

I have found that when push comes to shove, Song and JetBlue are almost the same pricewise. And unless you get lucky, JetBlue can be a bit more expensive...but they do have better flight times. I love Song, so we use Logan rather than TFGreen. We're in central Ma so can use either one, but with the big dig done, it takes us about 40 minutes to get to Logan and 55 minutes to get to TFGreen now. And with Delta's new terminal....well, it's just a nice experience. We loved it last month.

Can I ask how you search for airfare? Do you go to the airlines direct? How far out do you wait to book? $49 each way - what a great deal!

Thanks!

I fly out of both Providence and Boston. Personally I like PVD as an airport but would prefer either JetBlue or Song.

SW usually has the lowest fares but Song and JetBlue are usually within $10.

If you are looking for the absolutly lowest fares, then download DING and sign up for Rapid Rewards. Between the two of them you will usually find a great fare from PVD-MCO.

Be flexable if you can. Sometimes a 1 way fare with one airline and a 1 way return with another is your best bet.

You can book most airlines up to 331 days in advance, but you have to take your return date into account when making the calculation. Some exceptions to this are Southwest, JetBlue and I think ATA, all of which release only a few months of fares at a time.
I've flown out of both airports (and Manchester as well) and prefer Logan for the convenience. Although Southwest's $49 fare IS worth the extra drive time...

Oh, you poor, dear person. You actually believe the Big Dig will ever be done... :umbrella:
