i am looking for ticket prices for january and the ebst i can come upi with is jet blue wihich endss up being about $20 cheaper than continetal

any suggestions on what you are using how much you piad and if you are going to wait to see if any promos come out

The tickets are only bound to increase. Our tickets with Jetblue were $99 each way when we booked in April. They are now $229 each way. Jetblue has been very good when we have used them, tvs in each seat and free snacks, something most airlines are cutting back on. I would go with Jetblue if your other plans are set already.

Does SouthWest fly from your home airport? I just booked yesterday for a quick trip Octber 1 -3 for $49 each way. Unfortunatley that sale is over. If you have Southwest have you downloaded their "ding" to your computer? There have been dings in the $39 - $45 dollar range lately.(Out of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia) Right now Southwest is only booking out until early January, and those flights are $79 each way. Airtran and US Air were also just offering $49 flights, but they went back up to $79 today also. Keep shopping, if you find the dates and times you like with either Southwest or Airtran, book, coz you can always cancel and reschedule if a cheaper flight comes out and end up with a credit that is good for a year.

We're not flying out until May 31st, but I was afraid of the prices going up and/or not getting our whole party of five on the same flight if I was to wait for the prices to go down. I didn't want to play the waiting game and loose basicly. Soooo, I ended up getting round trip tickets out of KCI (MCI) for $201/person. It may not be the cheapest, but I can rest easy and that's what is important to me.

Not sure where in NY you are - but we recently booked AirTran out of White Plains for $79.00 each way. parking was pricey but you can either get a ride or do a one way car rental each way (which in our case was cheaper than the parking). Hope this helps. :wizard:

If you are coming out of BUF, Airtran has flights for $84 each way. I was just at their site earlier this evening checking on Jan 13th and later. That is the lowest I've seen from them yet. I'm still holding out for SW to put something out before I jump.

We're flying Jet Blue round trip from Newark, I think we paid $475 total withh tax... Alot but cheaper to fly than drive!

Airtran has some great sales until 09/19/2006 good thru Feb 1st. Just booked out of Pittsburgh $143 RT with them. And got the times and flights I wanted.

We fly airtran but we live in Iowa so we are not lucky enouugh to be close to a major airport. We did get some good prices89then 99 each way.

What I do is price tickets on travel sites then go directly to the air carriers sites you will get an idea of what a ticket is then it is susally cheaper to go through the site directly.

With air tran they have a email list htye send you discount prices or sales this is how we got our good price tics.

we are flying round trip for about 220 and that is from a small airport including tax an d stuff.

I am flying out of Rochester NY in May 2007 and bought my ticket in July. I paid 168 plus taxes and it came to 830.00 for 4 people from rochester to orlando. Not too bad I thought. We are flying Delta.

I am already starting to look at April prices. Can't wait for our October trip.

Get ready to be FOCKED October 21-28.

I am flying in late November from Austin and havent been able to find anything less than $300 trip - and that is a flight that leaves at 6 a.m. or gets into Orlando late. To get in early I am looking at $350. Seems outrageous to me - especially after reading this post. Today I got a ping about Southwest and I could get the return flight for $109 but the flight in was $149. I am holding out to see if things get better. Part of the trouble is that I want to fly in early Monday morning - and those flights are priced higher. I am thinking about flying in either Saturday or Sunday, staying offsite for a couple of days, and getting to the BC very early Monday morning, checking in and going to the parks. I have gone so far as to reserve a room at the Radisson for Sunday - thought I could spend that day in DTD, have a leisurely dinner, maybe hit a comedy club and then go back, get a nice nights sleep and get up early. to leave for BC. I would save $50 on airfare and spend $80 on the room for a total increase of $30 with an extra day and not have that getting up at 3:30 a.m. to rush to the airport to check my bags with the long lines for check in.... Any thoughts?

Northwest and Spirit airlines have specials right now flying out of Detroit. $49.00 each way. This is what we are paying.

Have you tried checking flights out of Houston ? Iam flying out of Houston on Southwest Jan. 1 - Jan. 7 for $84 each way . I was going to fly out of Austin but could not get any good rates. Hope this helps . Have a great time!!

We live in Iowa and don't have the luxury of a large airport nearby but we do have airtran and can get flights on sale ofr about 99 each way. Try goign directly to web site of the carrier and sign up for email lists if they have one. The will alert you of specials.

I plan my travel this way, too. I've always planned our family vacations at least 6 months in advance. We're going in Feb and I booked everything in early August. Advanced booking has always worked for us. Now, we just sit back and wait..... :hourglass

Thanks, Shopping Queen,

I looked briefly at the Houston flights. Maybe I will add that to my Ding airports. Thanks for the advice. $84! That would make me happy!
