Has anyone heard if airfare is going to be coming down anytime in the future? Right now a non-stop flight each direction is around $250 per person on united. I have found it for $188 but have a stopover on the way there and it is on airtran to flordia and united back. I have to make reservations for 6 adults and 1 child with a tight budget.... So should I take the leap and book at the $188 or wait a couple of months? Also, for those that have flown air-tran are they any good?

Thanks for all your help,
Theresa

When are you flying? Southwest flies out of BWI and I got a DING rate of $65 each way in July. This same DING fare is available today(but must be booked by 6:30pm eastern time) if you are flying by June 12th. Independence Air out of Dulles had even lower rates last time I checked, but it's not convenient to us...HTH

BTW-these are non-stop flights.

Last week I paid $175 RT for nonstop flights between Reagan National and Orlando on US Airways. I will be traveling in September. I found that rate on the AAA web site. Cheaptickets.com had a rate that was only slightly more expensive.

We are leaving on friday and got rates for $49 each way for Southwest out of BWI. We are in Potomac so Reagan is closer but you can't beat the price!! Sign up to get dinged - they honor all lower prices. I haven't flown with them for more than $69 each way to Orlando. They always have specials coming and going - the ding will work :goodvibes

Also, check Independence Air. Right now, if you fly on Tuesdays/Wednesdays the fares are $39 each way. I got mine for $49. I have also found, this year, it does NOT pay to book to far in advance. Additionally, Reagan National is my favorite airport to fly out of but you really CANNOT get a good deal out of there.

Ok, I finally got a fare I could live with. We are flying out of Regan on 12-2-05 USAir at 8:50 am nonstop to Orlando and flying back on Dec 10 at 8:50pm nonstop. I got a fare of $181 through expedia (it was cheaper than the fare on the USAir website). Wanted to go ahead and book now before the price of gas goes up and they raise ticket prices.

We purchased our tickets for Thanksgiving a couple of weeks ago. I JUMPED on them and the rate has since gone up. We HAD to fly out of IAD 11/23 (the day before Thanksgiving) & fly home 12/4 - Flying into Sarasota & out of Orlando. With all these requirements - especially flying on the busiest day of the year - I was thrilled to get $187/rt. :cool1: Last year I waited and ended up paying a lot more.

If you are not trying to do anything "special" - just r/t to MCO during a "non-peak" travel time, I think good rates come by frequently.

I signed up for DING last night and it is running on my computer but I don't see BWI-Orlando being offered to me today. Does it not give the same offers to everyone or ??? We want to go in July but all my offers end earlier this afternoon.
