I will be flying from Portland, Maine in October for our first WDW trip! I am searching on line for flights and wonder has anyone paid below $250 within the last two years?

Hi Crazubus,

I am looking for airfare from Portland, ME also for anything below $250 flying December 12-19. I know friends of mine have flown to Florida last Christmas for $210 a ticket out of Portland. So I’m holding my breath and watching the prices closely.

Hope this answers your question, it is possible!

Hi there , Just wanted to let you know that out of Manchester Nh with Southwest I just booked 3 tickets for my June travel for a total of $525.00 .. It isn't that bad of a drive ( about an hour and a half or so ) I have also flew w/ delta out of Boston last Dec for $ 463.50 for 3 of us.. Keep watching but I wouldn't wait too long if you are set on flying out of Portland . It was very worth it for me to save that extra $30-90 bucks per person for a short drive. Good luck .. Michelle

Hey fellow Mainers :)!

We like flying Southwest out of Manchester for two reasons:

1) Low fares (we flew for $175.00/person - all fees included - earlier this month)
2) Direct flights (less than 3 hours from take-off to landing)

Plus, SWA has some of the greatest employees in the airline industry!

That said, I always check the airfare out of Portland (because it would be so convenient!) - but have never found anything close to $250/person let alone $175

Mainewmn - I must have been asleep at the keyboard on this one! Do you know which airline they used? I'll have to pay closer attention :)

Wow, more Mainers!

We also fly out of Manchester, on Delta. Just booked tickets for our next trip for 190. each on Expedia. Not bad, but now I have to figure out this e-ticket thing...

The drive to Manchester isn't bad for us, either, but that's because Portland's an hour away - we're in Brownfield, near Fryeburg - and Manchester's about an hour and a half or two hours. I can't remember exactly, since I always make DH drive so I can nap before those early flights:p

Plus, parking is pretty cheap in Manchester.

Daisy;)

You can sometimes get some deals on direct flights out of Bangerr too!

The lowest possible rates are usually found departing Boston & Manchester thou.

Have fun plan'in! :)

I know you.....We are flying out of Manchester for the first time in July. We usually fly out of Portland but have paid about 249 per ticket which has been the cheapest. We Mainers are ready for the warm weather, I think at this point I would pay anything...

EmptyNester they got the tickets directly from Delta, with conection in Boston.

Here is another vote for flying out of Manchester. I just purchased 4 tickets on Delta for $190 each for July. Today I looked on the Delta web site and they are offering a web fare of $180. The lowest fare that I could find out of Portland was $272.50. When purchasing 4 tickets, the savings really adds up and makes it worth our while to drive to Manchester! Have fun on your trip and Good Luck finding the fare that you are looking for!

Thanks for the info, mainewmn - I sure wish the the airlines out of Portland would offer direct flights!

BTW - I noticed your countdown timer says: County down to our family vacation in:

Are you from THE county? :p I grew up in a small town outside of Caribou - both DH and I graduated from CHS many, many years ago :)

Nope, moved to Maine 15 years ago and currently live in the lakes and Mountain region. I guess I have been here for long enough tough :D

Hey disneydreamer I see we are heading down around the same and for the same reason, my sons bday is July 26th. Do you have any ideas for special things for the birthday? I know where he wants to eat but other than that I have nothing special planned. Also have you been down before in July?

Thanks for all the great responses! Yes flying out of Boston and Manchester is cheaper, but being north of Portland each is 2 1/2 to 3 hours away! Really would like to take the kids out of Portland as they have never flown before.
