We are looking at flying down to the "World" in September. We have went down that time of year previous years and fares are usually anywhere from $171 - $225 for that time frame. We're however looking at the benefit of possibly a direct flight and wanted to know in general how much more will you pay for a direct flight over one with layovers?? Right now they're $271 pp and we had said we would be willing to pay up to $800 for a direct flight (it comes out to about $813) So I'm wondering if I just had an unrealistic idea of how much a direct flight would cost?? Or is this a good deal and should we jump on it :) Of course I still have to price out my budget and see if flying is even an option at all this trip - but I was shocked that the amount we just threw out in a passing conversation was so close to how much they were running right now.

Thanks!!
Amanda

As far as I know a direct flight is a flight that may have a stop on the way to your destination, but you stay on the plane and continue on. The flight without a stop is a non-stop. I don't think the non-stop flight would cost anymore than a flight with stops. This has been my experience anyway. What airport are you flying out of. If you have Southwest sign up for the "Ding" specials and wait until their fares come out because other airlines will drop their fares then.

Good luck on a good fare.

Oops....that's what I meant - a non-stop flight. I have DING and I never thought about the other airlines dropping fares then. I will do that! Thanks!
