Airbrush Tan -- Anywhere to get it near Disney??

I'm getting married at Disney in October and haven't had any time to tan prior to the big day. I am wearing a spaghetti strap dress and need to have a consistent tan. Some people have told me that getting an airbrush tan is the best way to go (not a mystic tan, but an airbrush at a professional spa). Has anyone done this or does anyone know if a spa near Disney can do this? The lady at the spa here in Chicago says the best time to do it is the day before the wedding since it only lasts 5-7 days.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Good question! I would like to know, too!

I was thinking of doing either that or a Mystic.. I'm a little afraid of a Mystic rubbing off on the dress/clothes etc.. or even worse, someone else's clothes!

Google "spas" in Orlando; that may give you the info. I am going to the spa at the Dolphin (or is it the Swan? Oh well, it's written down somewhere) for a facial, massage and stuff on the morning of my wedding. No stress for me--I plan on being totally blissed out by the time I take that aisle stroll.)

But the tanning thing--*not* the day before, I don't think. If you are thinking about going airbrush, first get a body exfoliation--it will help your tan last longer. After the tan, you aren't suppossed to shower for at least 18 hours, and 36 hours is best. (That is the worst part.) Moisturize like crazy, and don't SCRUB your skin when you bathe, and it should last longer.

I don't know how soon after you will arrive in Orlando your wedding is, but if it is within 3 days, I would try to get the airbrush the day before you leave. I would also really shop around for a spa esthetician that knows what she is doing. He or she should be able to customize the look, taking out any red or pink from your skin. :stir: Also, I really, really recommend doing a trial soon. You will want to know what it looks like on you, and a trial will also give you a chance to see how long it lasts.

Also, avoid the temptation to go super dark. A light beige glow looks a lot better in photos than a super dark look does.

And hey--untanned skin that is well cared for is beautiful, too...and I am a tanning maniac!

Wow -- that's a lot of good information. I am thinking of going for the airbrush at Asha Spa in Chicago on the Saturday before my Thursday wedding. The lady told me not to shower on that Saturday and not on Sunday either and then it will probably last until the wedding. It looks like you really know your stuff and I appreciate the information.

I'd love to leave my regular skin, but I am tan on my arms and white everywhere else and I don't want it to look uneven. I guess I'm just stressing with only 3 weeks left to go.

Fiskboso--Chicago,Chicago, that toddlin' town....da da dah dah...ahem. Anyway. My two adored nephews are Chicagoans (or is it Chicagoites?) One is a Sox fan, and the other one is a fan of the other team. Da Cubbies.

It can get ugly.

Anywho, glad the info helped. I am a self-confessed spa junkie. Also, I hear ya on the uneven tan thing. I play tennis so I accumulate some funky tan lines. :sunny: My dress is long sleeved, off the shoulder though, so I only have to worry about the upper chest. But I am still getting sprayed down. Did you know that your esthetician can contour you to make you look slimmer? ;) Or even slimmer?

Good luck! 3 weeks! Yaaahhoooooeeyyyy....I have 3 months and I am UBER excited! You must be :bounce: off the walls!

Can't wait to see your pics!

PS Fiskboso--After the :artist: try using that new moisturizer with the tanning stuff built in. Can't think of the name--but if you cruise the aisle in your local beauty place you'll see what I mean. Just apply several times a day, and it should help keep the glow goin' on. Then before the ceremony, use some moisturizer with light reflective stuff, Nivea makes one in several shades, and a fine dusting of bronzer powder on your shoulders and clavicle (sp?) and you should look super healthy and wowee!

Salon 720 in Celebration is where I did mine before my wedding and they were awesome!

I was planning on having mine done at the new Mandara Spa at the Swan and Dolphin Resort. I'm pretty sure they exfoliate your skin prior, and then paint the stuff on. I'm not sure on the price, so I would go ahead and call: (407) 934-4SPA. I've been to a Mandara spa before, and they are extremely professional, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Good luck!

the mystic tan doesn't rub off. when you step out of the booth after getting it done you are supposed to rub all of the excess spray that's on you off with a towel. even when you take a shower none of it "runs" off of you. it just fades off basically.

How can they make you look slimmer? Do tell please!

:bride:

By contouring. What they do is use a slightly darker shade on outer thighs, etc. Sorta like they do to models in photo shoots. ;)

I can't stress this enough--do your homework, and find someone that knows what they are doing--and get a trial first. And when you book your appt (especially for all us destination brides that may not have the opportunity to do a trial with that particular spa/person) be very adamant in insisting they book you with someone with the knowledge and experience to get it right.

Gotta run--meeting my fiance at the gym so I don't need quite so much...contouring. :yay: <----cardio smiley.
