Can anyone recommend somewhere close to Canaveral to go on an airboat tour? We want a good guide to show us the wildlife after we have cruised.

We went in August after our cruise, it was a very good ride. Not our 1st so we could judge. It was in Christmas, Florida and was only about 20 minutes north of the port. I am at work and drawing a blank as to the exit we got off and the name of the place. If you want more I will question my husband when I get home. The cost was low for the length of the ride. Also had a small aligator, mouth closed with a large rubber band, for the kids to hold, and the largest snake I ever saw!

Sounds Ideal, We thought it would be an idea to go somewhere a bit away from Orlando and it would be a nice end to our cruise. , We're not going til May so theres no rush but any more info would be great sometime

Thanks

Kay

This is the place I reccomend. It is about 1/2 hour or so from the port so you will need transportation. I went here often as a kid growing up in Orlando. Now when I go visit the folks we always seem to wander back for a gator tail lunch.

Ok, I remembered more. You got on 95 and went north and got off at Highway 50, Titusville exit. You went West on 50 and it was on the right hand side of the road. What made the place really neat to us is that it is really soaking up the area culture. Looks a little run down and really laid back but the ride was good and lasted longet then paid for. The driver stopped for a lot of photo shots and really looked for wildlife. The funniest thing was the cattle in the water at one spot, seems the farmer lets them roam there, doesn't lose too many to the aligators. The really nice part was that you could then leave and go Highway 50 back to MCO.

Hi Kaslee. I agree with npdman. The name of the company is Lone Cabbage Fish Camp. They are great! Very informative and our guide didn't "watch the clock."

All the best.

Hi there
the boat rides at Lone Cabbage which is located on West 520 is the one I have used - thank goodness the land has not been used to build on and has the look of "way back when" - I have some brochures on it at the shop and if you wish, just drop me a note at my email address with your address and would be more than glad to send you the information on several air boat rides around Brevard County.
Another service offered by us to help those that are not familiar with Brevard County. Nope no charge.
Always
Shirley

Many Thanks All

Shirley, thanks for the offer to mail brochures but as i am in the UK dont worry about it. I have had a good look at their website which is great and looks like just the kind of place I was hoping to find. Not toooo commercialised. Everyone has had good comments about this place and their fish fry nights sound fantastic. We probably wont be able to do that but the airboat is something we missed out on when we were last in Florida and is something we are really looking forward to. Its great to do the theme parks etc, but we would like to see some of the wildlife as well this time.

Thanks to all again

Kay
