Air Tran Sale???

Does anyone here know history wise if and when AirTran might have a sale for tickets in Dec of 2003. I get their emails and they just ended a sale that I think went through Nov. some time.

Right now for my dates the price is around $232 roundtrip and I was hoping to get it cheaper. What do you think the odds are that the ticket prices will go down or will they most likely not and I should just go ahead and get them now? I know there used to be someone who posted here frequently that worked for AirTran--anyone have the inside scoop or have advice on whether I should book now or wait a little while?? Thanks!

Sales are normally not posted more than 3 months ahead of time, unless they are matching a sale from another carrier. With travel in December (busy time around Christmas), you run the risk of waiting too long also...

I was'nt able to access this board for 4 days so I finallly sifted through to find my post.

I am on Airtrans email list and they are always offering sale fares. The last one we got though only ran through the first week of November. Was just wondering if anyone remembers sale of tickets for Airtran during the 2nd week of December last year? Our dates are Dec 7-14. Thanks

I wouldn't book till the end of the summer, unless there is a sale fare. You are going during value season (before most schools get out for christmas vacation). Airlines won't usually drop the price of flights until they see how the loads and other factors are looking. 6 months is too far out for the airlines to use their crystal ball. Flight times and such can change numerous times between now and December and they aren't going to hedge their bets this early. I would exercise patience and just keep checking the fares this summer.
