The sticky above says that Air Tran was doing a pilot program with Magical Express. Is that still happening? Is Air Tran considered a "participating airline"?
The first page of that thread is updated regularly with current information. Currently, it states that the pilot program is at the selected resorts until the end of March. That is all we know... keep checking back for updates!
I hope that is the case, I would love to use it on my trip in May. I was wondering where this information came from, and if there are any indications that it wil remain permanent?
Also, how is Resort Check-in reconciling with AirTran's 24 hr on-line check-in? Can you still check in online 24 hrs before, then check you luggage in at the desk later?
It is fine. The ONLY time it matters is if you want to check your luggage at the resort on the way home. If AirTran is not participating you won't be able to do it there, you will have to get it off the bus and check it at the airport.
(And am I the only one who read the title and thought that AirTran having pilots was a good plan.... )
Still trying to find out, if in other's experience with AirTran's new resort check in, whether you can still check in youself on-line at 24 hrs, then check in "again" with your luggage at the resort desk.
I was told (on these boards) that once you check-in at the 24 hr mark you can NOT do RAC the day you leave. I was hoping the answer would be different.
We'll have to decide which we prefer ~ picking our seats at the 24 hr mark so that we have a better chance of all sitting together (2 adults + 2 kids (12-14)) or not have to schlep the bags to the airport.
I think I might try to access a computer just ahead of the 24 hour mark and see if the flight is full, if it is, I'll check-in and get the seats as close as possible. If it isn't I might just take the chance....
