I was hoping someone could help me who has travelled with air france before.

I have emailed airfrance about my problem and they keep repeating themselves and what it already says on the website so maybe someone can help. :confused3

I was looking to book for next June and once I get to the page to book, it says 1 item of baggage.

Does that mean INCLUDED IN THE ORDER is 1 item of baggage PER PERSON or just 1 between us and if we want to have 1 suitcase each, we have to book it seperately or when we get to the airport?

I hope you understand what I mean :goodvibes

I read that to be per person, so one suitcase each.

Sorry, something else I've just noticed. I just read this below

How about Mobile Online Check-In?
If you have internet access on your mobile phone, you can use it to check in with Air France.

You can even receive your boarding pass on your mobile phone for all trips departing from France and the following countries:

•Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy (except Naples, Pisa), Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain (Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid), Sweden, Switzerland or United Kingdom.

Note, if there is more than one passenger on the same reservation, each passenger must indicate a mobile phone number to receive his or her boarding pass on.

Does that mean ^^^ because there are 2 of us, we have to check in seperately on our own phones or can we just use one phone?

I've not used mobile check-in but from reading that you need one phone per person.

Virgin Rail sell tickets in a similar way and you also need one phone per person.

Disney Princess 85, would you be able to tell me if you and your bf needed 2 phones when you last went or just one as I noticed from the link to the other post, you said that you did the online check in near McDonalds ??

I would take that to mean that you just need to put a mobile phone number by each person's name and that it could be the same mobile number for all of you, not that it needed to be a different mobile number each time. I think they just mean don't leave it blank. For example, if you were travelling with a 4 year old they would need their own boarding pass but couldn't possibly be expected to have their own mobile phone number!

I've just read somewhere that only 1 boarding pass is given to each phone but what I was wondering is, would my bf be able to check us both in on his phone as he's the only one who has internet access and then get a boarding pass sent to his phone and one to mine SMS message form or would I still need internet to recieve mine?

Luggage is per person and you also get a hand luggage allowance too.

I’m not sure if you are travelling with children or not but Air France do not allow you to on line check in with children. We travelled with them in May and encountered this problem!!

Thanks.

Just been reading other things regarding air france on here and came across this ...

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2569560&highlight=air+france

It really confused me lol, the last post, does that mean that whether you check in online or at the airport, you already has an assigned seat?

Also, it may seem a stupid question, but how do you check in online and where can you print it off?

We had to call them up about this because they said we had auto check in on our reservation, and in the emails it said to check in online :/
They just said we have to check in online and auto check in is a mistake :/

and I think when you check in online it just saved into your reservation maybe :/?

EDIT!!: You can choose to pick up your boarding pass up at the airport :)

This might help, its the American site, but its the same instructions as the UK site but in more detail
http://www.airfrance.us/US/en/common/transverse/popup/popup_eservices_ICI_mode_emploi.htm

I hope you find out! because we're off with airfrance in a couple of weeks D:

Yikes! does that depend on the childs age do you know?
My brother is 11 and when we called airfrance they said we had to check in online

Not sure, on the age as our daughter was only 3 years old at the time.

When I e-mailed to query why we could not check in on line I was told that we had to check in at the airport with children due to child abduction/trafficking. Very odd, as you still have to go through security and show passports if you do it on line.

I just checked the online check in conditions and it says anyone with a baby cant use the online check in, nothing about children, so hopefully we'll be fine

Thanks for replying :)

Fingers crossed you will be ok as we thought we would be too as they class a baby as under 2 years old.

I hope no one minds my butting in but I had a general question about booking/searing assignments on AirFrance.

I'm traveling with a friend to DLP and wanted to make sure that we have seats together for the flight. Would it be best to book the tickets together (paying with one card, one itinerary, etc) or would we still have a good chance of getting placed together if we book separately?

Also - is AirFrance a pretty good airline (and worth the extra $$$ to book)?

Thanks!

You have to choose your seats yourself, either 30 hours before your flight by checking in online, or at the airport on the day.
I don't think it would matter either way you book because of this.

And, I've never flown AirFrance before so I can't really answer that (well, its not even airfrance, its British Airways via booking with AirFrance :/)
But we only paid the extra because of the flight times (AMAZING!) and because we only booked 3 weeks in advance, it was only £150 difference between that and easyjet. Though I must add booking 1-3 weeks later than my chosen dates, the prices were going up! not down! by around £100 each week, so maybe you get a better deal with them booking nearer the time.

Air France is the national airline and since it's merger with KLM it's the biggest and most solid in Europe.

It all depends where you are coming from. I've had very bad experiences with them and I didn't fly with them at all for 10 years and then had to and it went very well so I gave them a 2nd chance and they are ok:lmao:

Last time we went West I choose AA as they were way cheaper than Air France and I'd choose them again. We had a great flight to Miami and then on to Cancun.

We are going East this year and I've chosen Thai as they are cheaper than Air France and I know the service is great

AF I do short haul with but long haul they are too dear for me and the service isn't worth it

Hi again,
Sorry but I feel physically sick and struggle to sleep worrying about check in.
I was wondering (without it sounding too weird), if someone who is using mobile/online check in, to take photos (like a step by step) so I know what to do when it comes to the time.
I thought at first, I was going to choose to have them waiting for me at the airport but I don't know what I choose and if i'll choose wrongly.
Also whats been playing on my mind, is when I read air france's rules about mobile check in, it says 1 per person but when you print it off at the airport, can you still be on someone elses boarding pass or only one each. If it doesn't make sense sorry

I really wouldn't stress about it you will be fine so long as you get to the airport at the right time. Are you flying on the code share flights from Manchester? I couldn't check in online in Feb, stayed up half the night trying then was told on the phone yeah you can't check in online :lmao:
