So this past Sunday, I was trying to buy plane tix for Paris - we're going for Thanksgiving weekend, and I found a great sale with Air France - $400 round trip from JFK. So, I attempted to buy the tix. First time i got them, I then immediately realized that I had us flying out of Newark and flying into JFK - panicing, I had to wait two hours until Air france opened at 10 am to get it fixed. Thankfully they immediately voided the transaction and just told me to rebook it and be more careful next time, which I immediately agreed to.
Then I tried again to get the tix. Once I would get all of my cc information in, I would hit confirm. Each time in response it would say (and I quote) "Your information is incorrect. Please change it." No more, no less. so, thinking it may have my older address as I recently moved, I changed it and hit confirm. same message, no more no less. did it again. same thing. tried different credit card (which i know i was stupid to do as it was also my bank card), same thing.
so then I decided to get on website for the first card and found out that my high credit was GONE even though I had no charges on it at all. totally freaked out and called company - air france had 4 holds on it for the amount of the tix. found out bank card was the same thing with 2 holds.
A long story short, I was on the phone with the card company and air france for FOUR hours to finally get it fixed and the holds all just went off today.
This was the most stressful thing I've experienced financially since someone stole my credit card number - in france - in 2002.
Do you think it's something about me going to France?
The trip better be worth it!
