Air fare to Barcelona for DCL - Med Cruise

Am I ridiculous to expect to be able to find any flights RT to NYC for under $1k?

Fuel surcharges of $400 to $450 on a round trip ticket have bumped up all the Europe fares this year.

When I looked for the same rates to Barcelona for the Magic Cruise in Sept, I found it was so much less expensive to buy the r/t ticket than a one way, in fact, half the cost. So there will be an empty seat on the flight back, but that should be no problem my TA said.
My cost was $844. from Boston.

Yeah, but we'd be flying home, not staying in Europe.

I assume they were taking the Transatlantic cruise (and there probably was not an empty seat. Airlines overbook just because of this)

Now, Sept vs summer are different beasts. So when you are going may make a difference?

However, overall the fares are running higher this year. If you get close to $1,000 you are doing good!
