I booked flights for my son's family over a month ago but the direct flight from Halifax to Orlando is not on the schedule at all now. It's for Jan 21. The return flight is still there. I haven't called the travel agent yet (used points) but will next week. Just wondering if any of you have any insight into this. I hope the flight hasn't been cancelled or changed. :bitelip:

By direct fight, did you mean a nonstop flight? A direct flight has stops.

Why not go to Air Canada's website and use your confirmation number to check your booking?

I booked my January flight through Expedia, and Air Canada decided to move their nonstop flight from Ottawa to Orlando from Jan 28 to Jan 29, and asked me if I was OKAY with that.

I had Expedia call me back, because NO, I was not okay with losing an entire day of my vacation. I had to be put on a flight with a change of planes in Montreal, getting me to Orlando an hour after my expected arrival.

I didn't get charged for the new flight, as it was Air Canada that messed it up.

What happens if you check the reservation instead of the schedule?

My flight just changed on SW--I happened to check the schedule and my scheduled flight wasn't there, and I couldn't access my reservation. I called SW and they were right in the middle of changing it. The flight had been cancelled and they would've sent me an update if I hadn't called right then.

I suspect the flight has been cancelled, as you fear. However even if they make a change and send it to you, you can usually get in touch and say "no, I don't like that, let's keep looking..."

Good luck!

Are you checking the schedule or checking to see if you can book seats on it. Perhaps the flight is sold out so its removed from search results.

I checked the AC schedule and it's not listed. I checked using their flight confirmation number and everything is still the same. I mean non stop flight, there are no direct flights to Orlando from Halifax with AC unless they're non stop :) We always have to back track to Montreal or Toronto if there's a stop.

Well, I just checked their reservation again and now the flight has been changed from a non stop from Halifax to Orlando to Halifax to Toronto and then Toronto to Orlando. They're not very happy. There is a non stop flight on the 19th. Will wait for them to decide what they want to ask for before I try to make changes for them. They've already got a house booked for those dates so will have to see about that too. Hate it when the airlines do this.

I am flying on a non-stop direct flight from Halifax to Orlando(AC) on Jan 17th. I have been checking flights for several months and there were only direct flights on Saturdays and Mondays for Air Canada.

There was one listed for Wed. because we got it last month but they removed it.
Anyway after calling the travel agent who called AC they were able to change the flight to Mon. Jan. 19 (a non stop) and return on Feb. 9 (non stop). :thumbsup2 I hope they don't screw up any more flights.

Schedules do change. Just keep an eye on your reservations!
