Hi. :wave2: DH,DD, and two nephews are going down next Saturday to see the Leafs. They are to be taking the go-train I guess from Oakville. They have never done it before. Now Cost of train?, Time train leaves? and it better be easy to do. DD17 has to work as long as possible because of a sale at work, and they are leaving from Brantford. What time would you advice if possible to leave Brantford.

Here's the facts we know.

The Maple Leafs - Devils game is at 7pm on Saturday, Nov. 18.

Your son and his cousin are in Brantford.

They have to get to Oakville to get the GO Train to Toronto.

How are they getting to Oakville? Might I suggest they take the bus from Aldershot Station? There is a ton of parking, and it transfers to the train in Oakville. They would have to drive by the Aldershot Station to get to Oakville. It just makes sense.

Here are the facts that GO Transit provides:

The GO bus departs Aldershot Station on Saturdays at 4:45pm. The bus arrives at the Oakville Station at 5:20pm and the GO Train departs at 5:30pm This train arrives at Union Station at 6:07pm. The next GO Train doesn't arrive until 7:07pm. They will miss much of the 1st period if they take that option.

On the return trip the westbound trains depart Union Station at 9:43pm, 10:43pm and 11:43pm.

This round trip will cost each person no more than $16.80.

All this information is conveniently available through the GO Transit website at http://www.gotransit.com

Hi :wave2: again. Thanks so much. But how far is the Air Canada Centre from Union Station? Cab or walk? DH, DD, and both nephews are all new to this. Father inlaw was to go, he would be the best help but can't get home from vacation until that night. We don't want all four lost in Toronto, or that would be all a new story. Hey, would driving be easier, or not for newbies to the big city?

The Air Canada Centre & Union Station are connected to each other by a walkway. When your inside Union Station just look for the signs that say Air Canada Centre, you can't miss them. Once you find it, you will walk straight towards get 1 which is the only inside gate & that is where you would need to pick up your tickets from the box office (if that you need to get them from there) & you will also see the entrance to Centre Sports.

I would suggest they just d5rive to Oakville and G-Train it from there. parking is not a problem on a Saturday and the extra cost andd time to go from farther out might not be worth it. Plus I am not sure if all the trains and busses line up after the game will be over.

If it was during the week, than I might suggest Adlershot or even Burlington but on a Staurday, I would go straight to Oackville or closer....port credit.

Just my .02 worth.

You DON'T want to drive downtown and park at the Air Canada center. Parking was $40+ last weekend and it isn't really a very nice drive either. Definitely GO train it, very easy to find the Air Canada Centre from Union Station.
:thumbsup2
