Air Canada Cancelled Flight - Get Credit or Refund?

Does anyone know if Air Canada cancels your flight if you can get a refund or only a flight credit?

Right now they are pushing the flight credit. There is something on their web page about requesting a refund if that's the route you would prefer to go. There is also information about cancellations beyond their control not qualifying for a refund. Pandemic might be one of those.
