Aiptek or Other MPEG 4 Movie Camcorders

I know these things are fairly inexpensive. Are they good enough to give my son for his 6th birthday to play around with making videos and some pictures?

Seems someone each week (Radio Shack, Target, Circuit city, etc.) has one of these on sale each week. I thought he'd get a kick out of it.

Does anyone have one of these type of small, inexpensive camcorders for their kids?
