How funny, it looks like I have the other 1/2 of the June 24th crew.
My boys - 4 & 8 and our neighbors boys 8 & 10 will be on the same boat. Sorry, no girls. It looks like this will be an older crowd then normal. They'll all have to keep an eye on my baby. Can't wait to see you all there.
Add two more girls - 6 and 9! Looks like a full ship. My girls did this in January and there were a total of 6 (3 girls, 3 boys) pirates. Should be fun - and a lot warmer than when they last went on this cruise (they still had a blast, though) Don't know about that 10 max - I'm counting 11 kids on this boat.
Anyone who has already been on the Pirates Cruise! My DS (9) and DS (6) would like to have some first hand information like what you actually do between ports, what is lunch like and anything else of any significance. Thanks in advance.
"We get on the boat and we go to different places around Disney (hotels & stuff). Then we go look for treasure. At each place we go to we get one piece of a treasure map. By the time the cruise is over with, we have all the pieces of the map and we tape it together. We follow this map to find the treasure. The treasure is somewhere around the hotel, usually in the pirate's home. The home is built out of logs and hay, and they put all their stuff there. There is a flag and a pirate's chest. The chest is a big chest like you usually find with treasure. There is a lock on it and we have to find the key somewhere on the table. The grownup has to get the key from the table to open the chest. When the chest is open, it is filled with bags of pirate jewelry and stuff. Each pirate gets a bag of treasure without the bad pirates seeing us. Then we run really fast and get on the boat before the bad pirates show up. And we sail back to shore (aka, Grand Floridian) and that's it."
I have some photos of the Pirates Cruise found here in Janet2k's On-Line Photo Albums (just look for the Pirates Cruise album).
My pirate says they eat lunch on the boat. It is usually peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Sometimes they have a muffin and a biscuit, too. Drinks are usually juices or Kool-Aid. They also have either grapes, apples, or oranges.
There were almost 20 kids on our cruise in Feb. There were 4 CM's I think and they took the bigger boat. They had pb&j uncrustables, gummies, rice krispie bar and juice (whew... that's a lot of sugar). My kids really had fun and I hope all of yours do too!
