So, we are staying at bay lake tower, and thinking maybe ohana, followed by fireworks on the beach. I'm very nervous though with all of the negative feedback lately! Should we book it anyway? Neither one of us have never been. :confused3

Yes - book it anyway. We think the food is great, but realize that the meat is cooked over a fire and can be different amounts of "doneness". Know going in that the service will be adequate but not wonderful. With real expectation I think you will enjoy Ohana and the fireworks from the beach are really nice

It sounds like a wonderful evening you have planned! :) Don't worry to much about reviews - often times people have unrealistic expectations - and besides that, you will always get mixed reviews. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy your planning in the meantime! :goodvibes

I guess it just depends how important the quality of food is to you. We ate there several years ago, and lets just put it this way, we never went back. There are several other variables. What other restaurants have you eaten at and what kind of food do you like. I would highly consider Narcoossees, or Citricos at the GF. If you're staying at the Bay Lake Towers, more than likely you'll have eaten at California Grill.

Book IT... here's the thing there are some bad reviews.... people who didn't enjoy it are more likely to post a review and the reviews that are out there are only a small fraction of the people who eat there over the course of any given time. People have different tastes and may be used to a higher quality of food then others...while others expectations are sometimes higher. Try and if you don't like it at least you know for yourself!! Good luck with your decision and congrats!:bride::hug:

We love 'Ohana and I wouldn't worry about the negative reviews. There are plenty of positive ones as well. If you are worried though, I would recommend Kona. Still at the Poly so you can watch the fireworks from the beach. Make sure you catch the Electric Water Pageant as well. This is a hidden gem that only people who stay at the monorail resorts seem to know about.

For your honeymoon week I would book Citricos or Cali Grill. We didn't care for Ohana's for food or service. If you wanted a one credit in the area, I would do one of the cafes - Grand Floridian or Kona.

I would say you have to try it at least once, so do it. :thumbsup2

Personally I love Ohana, and watching fireworks w/ a cocktail and then heading up to dinner sounds like the perfect evening IMO.

However, the service is known for being a little slow there so just go in w/ that expectation and enjoy!

If there's one place me and DH go back to each visit, it's Ohanas. If you get to the beach early enough, you can get a hammock and cuddle while you watch wishes.
