Ah...where is Goofy's Kitchen?

We're going to be driving to the parks on the day that we're doing Goofy's Kitchen and DCA so I have multiple question about how to get to where we need to go...

Ah...where is Goofy's Kitchen? :rolleyes1 Where should I park?

After we get our grub on, how do I get to DCA's maingates from there? Will I have to move the car?

How long (obviously this is subjective but ball park figures never hurt nobody) will it take me to walk from Goofy's to the gates, and also from wherever I should park for the day to Goofy's?

And one unrelated question to my topic -- can anyone refresh my memory on the mainstreet trick? I know you go in some store and go out the back and walk all the way down to somewhere...but the details are fuzzy.

Thanks so much, in advance. I really appreciate all the wisdom...as does DH. He's not good with the unknown. :goodvibes

It's not that complicated of a "trick" really. It's just that if the sidewalks of Main Street are crowded, most of the shops are connected to each other on the inside, so if you go into one of the shops, you can walk down Main St. inside of the stores, bypassing the people on the sidewalks outside.

It's a lifesaver when the CMs tell you it's one way traffic along the sidewalks! :rolleyes1

Where are you actually staying that night?

Hotels-when-dining and DTD have time limits on free parking, so you'd most likely need to move the car and park in a park parking lot (hate when I have to type that sort of phrase). So knowing where you're staying is good, because it might be less time to just go to the hotel and then walk (the walk/tram from the parking lots or garage is not a *short* trip).

Good call! We'll be staying at the Residence Inn Maingate, and while the walk is dooable for us adults, I think the 2 miles a day (we'll be leaving for a mid-day break) ON TOP of walking around the parks will just be too much for the kids (all of whom are 6 and under).

So, it sounds like our best bet would be to park in the lots and then just trek to DLH...but what is the best way to reach the gates from there?

You just walk out of Goofy's (near the pool at DLH) and through DTD to the gates, about ten minutes. Or stop at about a third or so of the way down DTD and take the monorail.
