DH finally gave me the go ahead to book internal flights today (international has been booked for months) and our holiday is just over 2 weeks away.

So I got in and booked them today, they weren't bad prices either. However I've now gone to check what time our flight from LAX to SYD leaves, and it's at 9:50pm. However our flight from MCO to LAX only arrives at 8pm... :sad2:

I feel so stupid. I could have sworn that the return flight didn't leave LAX until 11pm :confused3 apparently not though...

So now I have to decide if I should try and change the internal flights to earlier (which will get us to LAX around lunch time, what a boring way to spend our last day) or hope to God that we can pick up our luggage and recheck it in and go through security all within 2 hours... :crazy2:

*sigh* I don't like my chances...

if you go to the check in counter and show your final ticket they should send your bags direct to Sydney.

At least American Airlines did for me back in 2012!
and you shouldn't have to pay for baggage because it's part of an international flight.

I don't believe they'll send the luggage on as the international and domestic flights are on seperate tickets.
I wouldn't risk it, but I'm always cautious with flights. Imagine not making it and having to pay extra for a one way ticket back to Australia. Domestic flights are also notorious for being late or changing time.

Yeah you're right, we booked them separately, so they won't check them through.

Ughh, I think I'm going to have to change it... :scared:

Who is the internal flight with? If it was Southwest changing it would be SO easy. One of the many reasons to fly with them :)

No Virgin America, we're southwest from Connecticut to Orlando, but other internal flights are Virgin. :confused3

Is there another flight that gets in an hour earlier? I hope so for your sake because sitting around LAX for hours is hell! Even just being there for the minimum required time is too much :rotfl:

Don't forget the nappies.

(Sorry to read this, Bec. I hope you get it sorted).

how do you look up internal flights and who do you book through

I book direct with the airlines and use a mix of the airline websites (I subscribe to some for notice of deals) and some of the flight compare sites like skyscanner.com.au and webjet.com.au.
