As I'm poking around the internet, hubby is going through some storage boxes and he just handed me one of the original Parrot Cay menus (the one that was in the shape of two leaves ties together). Here are some selections they used to have, for those who'd like a trip down memory lane:

Roasted Rum Pork with Fried Plantains
Windward Passage Red Curry Chicken
The Angry Fish (grilled mahi mahi with banana chutney)
The Calypso Stir Fry (fresh veggies and tofu seasoned with sesame and soy, served in a crisp shell with rice and peas)
Lobster Limbo (I MISS this one!), brushed with sweet papaya butter and served with warm sweet corn and shellfish succotash
Creamy Passionfruit Soup (I miss this one too!)

That's just a sampling...I was amazed to see the difference when hubby pulled it out, so I thought I'd share. Someday when we get time (ha!), we'll have to post the old menus alongside the current ones to show the evolution.

Just kidding! You know you could start your own musuem with all that stuff. I am sure you could get some disers to come by to check out the old and new stuff! When is your next trip?

I was digging thru some old things tonight and found our original Navigator from the July 30th 1998 Maiden Voyage of the Magic. The Navigators used to be several pages long and personalized for each person. Each person had their own Navigator. It had all your scheduled activities pre printed on them and places where you could write in other things to do. It was really much to bulky and heavy. I like the new Navigators so much better.

vicnmickey, #27 is Thanksgiving weekend on the Wonder (it has become a holiday tradition). I like the idea of a museum...I think we will start on online page. We have all of the old menus and photos of some of the original stuff, like the improv comedians.
mmouse37, do you by any chance have a scanner, and if so, would you be willing to send a scan of that for "history?" Sadly, we never saved any of our original documents...I remember that neat paper "suitcase" they used to come in.
Hubby must be on a Disney history kick tonight...right now he is subjected me to a video of our 1998 visit to see the Osborne lights at MGM.

I'm an incessant pack rat too and we still have most of the stuff from the 5th sailing on August 14th, 1998. I miss the original Animator's Palette dessert plate.

I miss those plates, too (appetizer on black and white, dessert on color), as well as the light-up fiber optic paint brushes.
When I am ready to officially start on the history page, I will make a separate post...in the meantime, if anyone has a digital camera and/or scanner and any Disney Cruise Line original items that they would like to share, please email me at disneycruise@yahoo.com and let me know if you can send a photo or scan. It's hard to believe that the cruise line has been around for 4 years now...I think a historical page would be neat to show people how it's progressed.
We particularly need photos of Voyage of the Ghost Ship, as that's the one show we never photographed (and no, when we take photos, we DON'T use a flash, so don't flame me!).
