In a way it is a lot but it's a relatively small portion of your overall budget and you get other benefits, you alone must decide where the break point is. What you'd gain is not having to pack up, clear the room and check back in. You'd also be able to go ahead and do any grocery shopping the day before or the morning of if you wanted prior to the others arrival. Of course having a dedicated 2 BR makes the other option of staying in the same villa going from smaller to larger impossible unless you can get an additional night in a dedicated 2 BR same booking category. In effect you're giving up a day or close to it with your current plan and the reverse would be the case if you were able to stay in the same room, you'd pick up that extra day with my suggestions. Certainly the time the rest of the family arrives and your plans for that day could also affect the issue, if they're getting in after 4 PM and you don't have much going on it won't make as much difference but if they're arriving earlier or you want to spend the day at the parks, having the room set and available could be a huge difference. Personally I'd prefer to stay off property for the one night rather than your current setup but then we always have a car and that might play into your situation. One other option is to look for distressed rental points and try to pick up the extra 2 BR night for less. Even if you paid for both rooms, that method could be overall cheaper than just paying for the one extra night in a 2 BR.I can understand this view and I desperately wish I shared it. Our "main" reservation for the week is a dedicated 2BR savannah view, which for the extra night would cost 48 points. The standard view studio for that night would cost 14 points. At a standard rental rate for points the difference between the two rooms would be about $475 for just one night. Unfortunately for me, I consider that to be a lot of money. I just cannot justify spending the equivalent of my entire F&W booze budget to avoid the need to move rooms. Stashing our bags won't be so bad, I hope.
