I have a question...
my daughter will be turning 3 in the middle of the dates i'm looking at...if we buy the 6 days passes and our first day is before her bday, would she still be free for all 6 days?
thanks!

Yes. When you start your visit is the age for your visit.

Also she will be free for character meals for the entire trip. If you book one just book her as an infant.

I am so glad we are going on this trip AFTER my grand daughter turned 3 ! She is 3 1/2 now and looks almost 5, at 2 she looked 4 . She is 99 percentile in height (meaning she is taller then 99 % of girls her age) I would not have wanted to deal with the disbelief about her age. Although we are bringing her 2 year old sister also, she is only 94 percentile and has little hair so hopefully it won't be a problem lol.
Hopefully the staff is well trained enough to understand children that children vary greatly in size!

You could always bring a copy of the 2 year old's birth certificate.
I don't think they'll question you though - although I do recall my son being asked his age once ( guess they figure kids won't lie like their parents might!) He was tall for his age ane nearly 3 at the time.

Do they really ask the age of the free kid? I have never been asked what my kids' ages were. Do I need to bring a birth certificate or something to prove their ages?

My daughter was questioned when we took the twins just before they turned 3. I told her she should bring their birth certificate but she didn't think they would question her.....they did. Better safe than sorry. We are a tall family and our kids always look older than they are.

We always bring a birth certificate for the kids, just in case. we have it anyway for the airplane. Nana50 is right, better safe than sorry.

Wow! What a timely thread. Today is my DD's 4th birthday and last year we were at WDW for her 3rd b-day! It was the last day of our trip, and I had been worried about the same thing. I asked on the Mom's Board on the WDW website and they told me that if she's 2 at the beginning of the trip, she's considered 2 the entire trip. So, that being said, I was only questioned once about her age, but she isn't tall for her age (when we went to Sea World last May, they questioned me why I handed them 2 tickets - they thought she was still 2). When I was questioned about where her ticket was, I simply replied 'she's 2' - and they let us move along.

At WDW, we did the lunch at Cinderella's castle a few days before and put her birthday on the reservation. They didn't charge us for her, brought her a plate of pasta w/ butter on it and milk (to drink), and a special little birthday cake-for-one (as well as a scoop of ice cream). It was awesome! It made the overpriced meal not feel so overpriced :rolleyes1!

So, I would definitely take advantage of this one last 'free' trip - and maybe even sprinkle some extra birthday pixie dust on it!

Also, we got tired of worrying about misplacing the birth certificates, so we went to our local MVD and got the girls both official ID cards. I never have to carry their BC's and I always have proof of their age, if needed.

So do you actually have to have 'proof' or can I just tell them she's not 3 yet. I hate carrying around birth certificates and worry about losing them, etc. We are driving this time around so we won't need them for the airplane or anything.

Gosh, I have three boys who are all tall for their ages (now 10, 7 and 4). We've taken them to theme parks all around the country (including DR and WDW many times) and lots of zoos, professional sports games, etc.

Never once have I had anyone question their ages...even when they were days before a birthday. I can't imagine anyone at Disney asking for proof of age!

The only time I ever remember being questioned was on an airplane. I honestly can't imagine anyone at Disney asking you, but especially then arguing with you if you said, "She's two." They are too customer-service oriented.

You can leave it behind and go for the "just tell them" approach, but if they do not believe that she is under 3, they have the right to charge you if you cannot prove that she is indeed entitled to free admission.

There is a strong belief on these boards that there is a strange anomaly at Disneyland in that there are no 3 year olds ever in the Park, just a LOT of 2 and 4 year olds. :rotfl:

We were there in June during DDs 3rd birthday. She too is very tall and no one ever questioned. I've never heard of anyone being forced to buy a ticket for a 2 year old because they couldn't prove the child was under 3. In fact I don't think they can actually make you show ID for a child (outside the birthday promo and GADGAD promo). The CMs can ask you and the child how old they are.
