Age vs. Height Restrictions

I noticed that some rides have a "not recommended for..." statement on them; for example, Space Mountain says it is not recommended for children under 10.

Do they ever ask children's ages on these? My 9-year old daughters will meet the height requirement, and I'm not concerned that they can't handle it. Typically they complain rides aren't scary ENOUGH; ToT is a total 'pleasure cruise' for one of my daughters. :crazy2:

If we got turned away at Space Mountain because of their age they'd be devastated. Tell me that's not how it works!

They dont ask for their ages they will just check the height. My son went on space mountain when he was 8, but he did not enjoy it.

My children have always been tall for their age. My daughter did Space Mountain at 8. Last time I went my son was only 6 and got on Space Mountain no bother. He even did Summit Plummet. I suppose children are all different but mine have always said 'the scarier the better!' Enjoy!

My ds is 6 and on our last trip did rock n roller coaster, rc racer and tower of terror! He's tall for his age, though he was upset he wasn't tall enough for space mountain and Indiana Jones!

As others have said they go by height rather than age however a word of warning - Space Mountain in DLP is totally different to in WDW and DL. Its much rougher and also goes upside down.
Crush's coaster is also a lot rougher than it appears from outside - it spins a lot.

Thank you for the replies. I think they can take it (they love California Screamin' in Anaheim, which goes upside down). The dark part will be new. I guess we'll find out!

they will already be upset they won't be able to go on Indiana Jones - if Space Mountain was added to that list they'd be crushed!

Hi! Can anyone tell me what the height restrictions are? I'm 35 so I'm definitely old enough lol but I'm very short - 4ft 9 (about 150cm) and usually wear children's age 8-10 clothes! It hadn't even occurred to me until recently but now I'm worried I might not get on the rides!!

You should be fine.
The restrictions are listed against each ride here
