I apologize if this has been asked before, but is there a specific age when kids are allowed to ride alone at Universal? I'm traveling with my 12-year-old in the fall for HHN (I know it's "not recommended under 13," but he's a giant horror buff), but during the day he's going to want to do all of the big coasters (he's done them all with his dad before) and I am a huge ride wimp. Will he be allowed to ride on his own? Gringotts is about all I can handle, sadly... though I am so curious about Hagrid's that I might be brave enough to try it.

He won’t have any problems. My daughter has been riding alone on the big coasters since she met the height requirement.

One ride daily on RRR is enough for my husband but our daughter will ride 2-3 times in a row.

Have him use the single rider line (it is usually much faster) and remember to keep his phone, sunglasses, or anything big he’s carrying in his pockets so he doesn’t have to worry about the lockers.

He will be without his cell phone while in line. Of course he can always use the lockers himself if you think he will need his phone before leaving the ride.
When my daughter was 11-12 we would make sure she knew where we would be waiting for her since she would not have a phone.

Initially I tried leaving my phone with my friend when she wasn't riding a coaster, to avoid a locker. But I found it so much easier to just put it in the locker. Makes it much more convenient for the non-rider friend, because they can do whatever they want until I text that I'm off the ride. Much easier on them not to have to hang around near a specific meeting place.

Also i hope you do try Hagrids! It's all speed and fun story / effects, no big drops or loops or anything. Even if it's a one-and-done, you'll have gotten to experience it. Sit in the sidecar for a more secure feeling on your first ride.

This is all great - thank you both! I have to think through the cell phone/no cell phone thing. And I hereby solemnly swear that I will attempt hagrid’s! :)
