Just wondering if my 12 year old twins (my son is 5ft 5in already) can bring my 6 year old son on the above ride with them? I get motion sickness and won't be able to go on. My husband will be joining us later in the day and we will be at rope drop.

Its a lie, but if he is "14" he can take his sibling. If he looks 14 they won't even ask.

OK, my younger ds will be 6 1/2 years old when we go in August and my twins over 12 years old. I will make it work. Thank you ;)

I know you didn't ask this, (don't you LOVE unsolicited advice?), ;) but 7DMT is very mild and very smooth. My Mom, (65yo) who also gets very motion sick, LOVES this ride. Just a thought, hate for you to miss out on a great ride. :goodvibes

I thought that anyone with an "adult ticket" could take someone with a "childs ticket" on the ride... My experience is when I took my 2 kids to Animal Kingdom, by myself, a summer ago they wanted to go on rides that I wouldn't go on. I walked through line with them & the CM's would let them go on without me because she was 10, my younger son was 6. The CM's would usher me where to wait for them at the end. We did that all day with no issues and yes, CM's did ask the ages.... I don't know the official age rule, but that is my experience. :goodvibes

They were letting them go because your younger son was 7, not because your daughter was 10. 7 is the age a child is allowed to ride on their own. They would have let your DS ride even if was by himself and did not have his sister with him. If the OP's younger son was 7, it would not be an issue. Basically if a kid is 7, they can ride on their own, but if the kid is under 7, then they must have someone at least 14 with them.

I agree, it is a very smooth ride. I get motion sickness on some rides, but I was totally fine on 7DMT. If my (then) 3 y/o is tall enough, I would not hesitate to make 7DMT her first coaster, it was that smooth. It's also pretty short, with a lot of the ride being more calm/almost dark ride like inside the mine.

Sorry, I typed the wrong number. I guess I should have proof read my own work!

This is incorrect. Child under 7 must be with someone age 14 or older. They had to come up with an age at which they thought a companion might be able to help a child younger than 7 follow directions in case of an emergency or evacuation and they chose 14. Doing it the "adult ticket" way would mean that a 10 year old could be responsible for a young child, which apparently Disney didn't want.

Yep there is a suggestion up above that you instruct your 12 year olds lie and say they are 14...there's always one.

My 15 year old doesnt look 15 he looks more like 17.. They still asked his age when he rode with his cousin who was 6 at the time... So they may ask whether he looks it or not..

I'm sure you are correct. Like I said, I didn't know the official rule, I'm just writing my experience....

From the website:

"Disney Park Rules and Regulations -

To board an attraction, children under age 7 must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older."

We have seen them get a lot stricter with the 7-14 rule recently. They tend to ask everyone that is even close to those ages how old they are. Totally up to you on the answer you instruct your kids to give, but be aware they really may ask them.

I agree with some of the previous posters. I'm prone to motion sickness and won't do big coasters or spinning rides, but I was totally fine on 7DMT. In fact, I loved it and went twice last summer.
