Age of first haircut? Thinking of Barber Shop in MK

We were hoping to get DD's haircut for the first time at the Main Street Barber Shop in April. She'll be 8 months, and she has hair, but not much to cut. She won't be able to wait until next year's trip, so it looks like she might have to get it cut around here Just wondering what age most of your children got their first haircut.

My little guy had his first haircut at the MK barbershop. He was 26 months old. (He was bald, bald, bald for the longest time and I thought he would NEVER need a haircut!) Actually, he really needed one a month or two before that trip, but we put it off so he could have his first haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop. It was such a neat experience!

Eight months seems awfully young. I don't know how they would really get her to sit up in the chair, etc. I could be totally wrong though.

My daughter was 4 when she had her first haircut. We made a big deal out of it and had it done at the Barber Shop on Main Street. It was fantastic! Our twins were only 14 months old at that time so they didn't have haircuts. They will have their first haircuts in August when we are down there. My son could probably use one now but oh well, he can wait five months and have the special haircut. I love his baby curls anyhow so I am in no rush. He will be 2 years 1 month when he has his haircut. His twin sister does not need a haircut at all but she will have one while we are there so that she can have her haircut at the MK too. We will ask them to do just the tiniest trim possible. DD who will be five is eagerly awaiting our return so she can have her hair cut again. Mommy and Daddy will probably join in on the fun as well. Why not? It's cheaper than a haircut at home would cost anyhow. If you want to do it just for the sake of doing it there ask if they can do just a little trim- tell them you are there mostly for the ceremony of having it done there. I am sure they would accomodate you- I anticipate that they will do it for us in the late summer since I want the twins to get their haircuts at the same time. Good luck!

Ours were around 1 when they had their first cut. The barbers did great with them and we would recommend it for anyone.

My ds had his first haircut at around 6 months because his hair was already in his eyes, not at Disney though. He has hair like mine - super thick and grows fast. He needs a haircut every 4-6 weeks. When he was younger, I just sat in the chair with him in my lap while they cut it. My dd is 14 months, and she is just now needing her bangs trimmed.
