Age for shore excursions?

I was looking over the shore excursion for our West Coast cruise and noticed the ones we'd be interested in have an age range starting at 3 years old. (3-9 for children) These are beach days or hotel pool types of things (no zip lines through a forest or canyon, although we could use a short break from our terrible 2 year old) . We have a 1 year old and a 2 year old (plus a 6 and 8 year old) I was wondering if that meant they could go but don't need a ticket or they not allowed on those tours at all? I would be really annoyed if they wouldn't let the 2 little one enjoy a beach break or pool swim~~Thanks for any help. Amy :flower:

The ages they list are the minimum allowed to go on the excursions. I had to book mine on my own and not through Disney last cruise since they wouldn't let my 4 year old go on one I wanted to do so I booked the stingray excursion on my own. Look into doing them on your own and not through Disney since their age limits stink! I can understand some of them having age limits but not beach days.

I think it depends on the excursion. You would have to check with DCL to know for sure. My TA told me that there were NO excursions at all that my DD 1 yr old could go on. From reading here and calling DCL myself I found out that yes, she can go on a few.

I had 2 booked for the Western in April that my 1yr old could go on. One was semi-submarine in GC which stated the 3-9yr old & 10+ costs. Also we booked the Sea Lion thing in Coz. It also has listed 3-9 yr old prices. When I called DCL, the CM told me that on those excursions the 1 yr old is allowed to go. She will be free for the Sea Lion Chanakaab thing but we would be charged the kids price for the GC excursion. The confirmation I received in the mail from DCL has her listed on both excursions.

I did cancel the semi-sub and went with Capt Marvin's instead for the Stingray City tour they offer. We wanted to do it through DCL, but like Aprilgail mentioned, the 1yr old could not go on that one. But it says the same thing about pricing, 3-9 yrs old. (Capt Marvin's will let her go and is cheaper than DCL.)

It is a little confusing and I wish they could make it more clearer for us travelling with little ones.

Give DCL a call. I'm also on a west coast cruise and called them the other day with the same question. They read off a bunch of excursions that were "all ages allowed". My almost 2 year old would be able to go free of charge. Hope this helps!
