Are those under 21 allowed in bar and lounge areas in Disney Resorts and/or in Disney Springs? Taking an adult girls family trip but will have one niece who will be a few months shy of 21. We can not change the date as it is tied to a wedding we are all attending. Of course we will not allow her to drink but wondering if we need to avoid all lounges and bars.

My girls have sat at almost every bar in WDW since the age of 2 and 4. Our favorite is The Boathouse. We sit at the bar and eat shrimp and consume lots and lots of beer while the girls have virgin drinks.

WDW and really Florida in general doesn't care about minors/people under 21 sitting at the bar at all. Your only real issue would be going to Trader Sam's after 8 pm and Jellyrolls. After 8, it becomes 21 and up only. Anyone of any age can enter before then, though during my trip in May they were not letting families with minors join the wait list at 7 pm. Jellyrolls is strictly 21 and up at all times.

"Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto welcomes the whole family—including children—from opening until 8:00 PM. After 8:00 PM, only Guests 21 years of age or older may visit."

We see really young kids in Disney lounges all the time. With the exception of the ones already mentioned an almost 21 year old won’t be a problem.

On a side note we saw a family get kicked out of Jock Lindsey recently because their kids about 2 or 3 years old I’d guess were absolutely out of control. I’m talking non stop screeching, climbing on the benches and even attempting to rip down the Christmas decorations. It was insane. Finally they were asked to leave.

But, OP, your niece will be perfectly fine! A lot of the lounges even have some creative non alcoholic beverages. Have fun!!

They're all ages.
We usually opt for tables when we have the kids as ultimately the bars are...a bar. The restaurant bars aren't as much as issue as they're more open-air and part of the restaurant. The actual lounges have a much more traditional bar vibe so I try to let the adults keep the bar seats there.

All ages are allowed in 99% of bars and lounges.

I have heard of situations, doesn't seem to be a company wide policy, but some lounges have asked that underage not sit at the actual bar after certain hours.

I sit at bars/in lounges with my kids frequently, never an issue other than those noted above. One recent exception was the Citrico's bar... they wouldn't let DS12 sit there this past summer, despite having done some several times in the past (and the bar was empty at the time). We were allowed to sit at the lounge tables though.
