Afternoon Tea Now Available at Disney’s Beach Club Resort Solarium

I have very mixed feelings about this. As a guest that loves a good tea, I am looking forward to the experience. As a DVC member I thought this area was part of the Beach Club Villas?

At this time it is not a daily occurrence, more seasonal it seems. So we will see.

This kinda reminds me of the Attic at the Boardwalk and have to wonder how long before TOWL changes.

I never thought the Solarium was part of the Villas - it's in the main hotel building and I would have thought was part of that.

It wasn't there prior to the Villas though was it? Best I remember and I will admit things are fuzzy sometimes it was built when the Villas were built as a connection between the two, though you do have to go outside. I know the bell captains use it to deliver luggage to the villas. I guess that exterior door will be unavailable during tea time.

I was trying to remember exactly but don't. However, even if it was added during the Villa construction it doesn't mean it was part of DVC. The Solarium is used interchangeably for both the hotel side and villas. Currently they have tables and chairs that are used for sitting areas for dining from the Marketplace. And it definitely is not connected to the Villa building - only the hotel. No time currently to go thru the BCV docs to see if there's a mention of it though. A couple other examples - at VGC a wing was added to the hotel (it seems to fall under the VGC project but was always intended for the hotel). At VWL they are adding a restaurant and seemingly some other building during the VWLII construction but I don't expect it will technically be DVC. VGF - added the pool snack area at the redesigned beach pool but I don't think the DVC docs mentioned it specifically as DVC. I do consider these all a bit different than say the Attic (a Disney steal from DVC so it seems) and if they were to ever do something similar with TOTWL(which is definitely in the DVC docs).

I think it's a great idea, just wish it wasn't only at certain times. I always make an ADR for tea at the GF but it's a pain getting over there unless it's on a MK day. I almost always stay at YC/BC or in a pinch BW so it sure would be nice to have it close to home.
