Does anyone else get hit with that aternoon snack attack? What is it and where does it come from? :confused3

Yes. I the hour between 3:00-4:00 pm. I need more will power. I was going to try a protein drink to see if that helps. Good luck.

I am a believer in many short meals throughout the day. I avoid the urge to snack by eating something about every 2 hours. Some good choices are oatmeal (a brand without a lot of sugar), a kashi bar, yogurt, almonds, stuff like that. I have read in many sources that waiting until you are hungry to eat or only eating 3 meals a day is an invitation to over eating.

A protein shake that contains casein protein is a good choice because it takes longer to digest casein than whey or other protein sources. The longer it is in the stomach the longer you feel full. Just make sure to get a brand without a bunch of added sugar or artificial sweeteners (including Splenda). Foods high in fiber also keep you full longer.

I get hungry as well between those hours. Sometimes I have a small bowl of high fiber cereal or 1 piece of light whole wheat toast with cashew butter, or low fat string cheese with an apple. After i have the snack I try and go for a walk, or I put in a exercise video. Getting moving always puts my hungar to rest. I try and stay away from protein bars and those 100 calorie packs, I think they are just fillers with no nutritional value(IMO)

I usually get the snack attack too. I try to keep some popcorn or fruit around, but sometimes that just doesn't cut it!

I too try and eat something every 2 to 3 hours and try to stay away from the 100 calorie packs. I only allow myself one a day and only after I've gotten in all my basic guidlines.

That used to happen to me all the time. Now I head to the gym at three and don't get home till 5ish. The joys of a flexible schedule job! You poor 9 to 5 ers are just, well, buggered. ;)
