I'm trying to decide which parades are the must-sees while we're there. My 7 yr old and 3 yr old like to go back to the hotel in the afternoon and rest or swim so I really have to plan if we're going to make it to the parades. Last year we went to Spectro...kind of saw the Share A Dream but missed all the others. This year they say they want to see them all...and still swim in the afternoon..and do everything else that Disney has to offer. :) They don't realize they have to make choices.

Which parades do you consider a def must see?

We LOVE Share a Dream Come True (and have seen it many times), then next would be MGM's Motor car parade (seen it twice)...great characters in that parade.

We finally saw AK's parade this past December and were not impressed. We will skip it from now on. Of course, others think it's a wonderful parade but we didn't enjoy it. It was a waste of our time.

Have fun planning!

The last time we were in WDW, we went to every parade. They were one of the highlights of our trip. Our oldest son just turned four and the twins just turned 2, and they really liked the MGM parade. It may be our favorite because it was our first day and it was our first real encounter with characters up close. If you want to see characters this is the parade for you. Our second favorite parade was the one at AK. We almost left before the parade but changed our minds and I am glad we did. This parade doesn't seem to have as many character, but the ones that are in the parade come along and high five and shake hands with the kids. One of the twins just thought this was the greatest thing and to see him high fiving the characters put tears in my eyes. My least favorite was the MK parade. We sat facing the sun and the glare off those large globes that the characters were in made us miserable. This parade route was also the most crowded and I hated how pushy people were. During this parade, the characters stop now and then and invite children out to dance with the characters. We were lucky enough to be in one of those areas where Winnie the Pooh stopped. Pooh is my son's favorite character and seeing him out there giving him a hug was priceless. If I had to skip any afternoon parade it would be MK, but we plan to go to them all again this trip.
Good Luck Planning!

WE love the AK parade & MK (pick the right vantage point). Least favorite is MGM

Funny to read everyone's views on this. We like MK parade- DD loves the princess floats! We love MGM's parade- festive song and lots of neat characters. I don't know that I could pick between the two- I like both for different reasons. MK parade stops at different points- ask a cm or on these boards for specific places. We try to get at one of these points so DD and DS can dance with the characters- priceless. The kids really like this one also. And it is MK. We like MGM b/c of the wide variety of characters. DD LOVED it!
We've never seen AK- so can't comment on that one.

I love the AK's parade. It is soo colorfuland the music is fantastic. It is impossible for you to just sit there without moving your body in some way to the music. It is a bit loud but very high energy.
