I watched three WDW specials on the travel channel today. After watching, I must say the expected price increases for rooms and dining don't bother me as much. We don't really think about all that goes on behind the scenes. They put tremendous thought, effort and expense into making everything they do authentic, worthwhile, innovative and fun! I think that must be one of the reasons I love the place so much! The constant rehabs are not just band-aid cover-ups of aging, they are full scale redos to mantain quality and integrity. Nothing is done half way. I am amazed at the attention to detail in everything from the biggest attractions to the smallest little hidden quirks. If I put all of that into perspective, I think we really do get a great value and a vacation experience unlike any other on earth for the price we pay!

I missed a lot of this... wish I could find them online. But yes, they really do a great job behind the scenes, don't they?

Visits to WDW sure are expensive, but I've never come home thinking "Boy, that sure was a lot of money..." Instead, I come home thinking, "That was great! I'm so glad we INVESTED in that vacation!" I agree... they do a good job and we take a lot for granted.

LOL, yes, I watched them too, even though I had seen them before; it's so much fun, especially when your trip is coming up soon like it is for me. Yeah, for the value, I think the prices are incredible. I can't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express for less than $100.

I've felt we've gotten a great value for our money. However, we've always gone during the value season. Either free dining times, or last January we took advantage of a $400 discount below value season rates for a week package. I have no complaints about the money spent. Well worth it.

However, we will never go during mid or peak season. Prices are way too expensive and thus the value goes down. Especially with the larger crowds.

We'll have to evaluate the rates next year. I'm sure they will go up, tips removed from dining plan etc. Hopefully they will have other large discounts to make it worth it.

we too have gotten good value for our money, we have gone to WDW in June/July and have gotten an awesome rate at WL for 180 courtyard view except for our past trip in May we paid close to 400 a nite but with past trips so cheap we really didnt mind and we love the resort so we were willing to dish it out!
