Anyone else have this problem?

When we bought our resales this year we reserved our scheduled trip in early Dec using points. We figured this would be our only trip down this year. Even though I have sufficient vacation days, dh doesn't :( and he already used some of it when I had our 2nd child in April.

So, I banked all our 2001 points (Dec use year), and gave away all our unbankable points to my aunt (also DVC member).

Last week during all the airfare wars I was checking airfare to Miami for my parents (who are cruising in October) and discovered how cheap airfare was to Orlando. Started me thinking. :D

Our fifth wedding anniversary is this September and we didn't have any set plans yet. So,... asked my parents to baby sit the kids for the long weekend. Called MS and got 3 nights at Beach Club starting 9/21 on borrowed points - not a best use of points, I know. But one - I love that place; two - probably 1st & last time without kids (gotta have that kitchen & laundry with them); three - might be last time we'll be able to stay there on points before BC villas are finished; and four - it'll be a long time before the rush to stay at BC villas dies down.

Anyway, bought non-stop JFK-MCO tickets for $109.50 @. Reserved a compact from National for 3 days for $65 including tax! Airfare, car & lodging for under $300!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: All that extra $$$ for eating out!

Can't wait!:D Disney without the kids! Disney without the kids! Disney without the kids! I'll be so much FUN!:p :p

I think I developed another addiction of checking airfares even though all my trips are set! (But that's a whole new topic!)

Does that sound like us. We planned a trip in Jan. of 2002, used points for OKW and paid cash for 3 day cruise on DCL. When I saw what SW was going for to MCO we got the airfare and booked some more days at OKW. It is going to be great, I have been very ill these past few months and have had to have several surgeries. I can use some TLC at OKW to help in my recovery, and the airfares were the best news we have had in a long time.

We've done it too!! Had our summer 2001 vacation booked at OKW/VWL for quite some time and just couldn't wait that long....so we went down for a quick long weekend in June. We had to borrow points because I already banked points but....Our use year is June and the first night of our stay was May 31 so it wasn't too bad at all.

Have a great time without the kids!! I can't wait to do that someday....but for now....they always come with us!!

When we bought at VWL in March, we banked all our points to be used for 9 nights in January. In May, my husband said to check if anything was available for Memorial Day weekend (this was 4 days in advance). Also, he didn't want to borrow points, so we added on enough for that stay. I check the airfare everyday and found $129.50 from Delta, so now we're going for 5 nights in August. Unfortunately, we have to borrow all the points and it leaves us just 32 points after our January vacation. We will probably have to add on again soon! Today when I checked airfare again, it's down to $118.74 (from Columbus, OH)! Since I bought the tickets on delta.com, I can't get a credit for them though.

Have our vacation booked for week after Thanksgiving 2001 at another timeshare since last winter. Bought BW resale this spring and can't wait. I made ressies for 19th anniversary for long weekend Sept. 22 in studio. Even now I feel like I can't wait for Sept. to come. I want to go NOW. We have been going to WDW with another timeshare for years. I just can't get enough and my kids are now 18 & 15. Have a wonderful time.

Glad there are others out there that get vacation fever while waiting for their vacation!

Dennis - hope you feel & get better quick. Can't think of a better place to recuperate!

SleepyatDVC, I feel better by the minute!!!!
I am looking forward to the trip in Sept. and it has made me feel so good I even went for a walk today so I could start getting in shape for the parks. DVC is the cure for whatever is ailing you. We think the world of our trips to WDW and the $79 airfare each way has made it possible this time.

Guilty as charge. I try to find any excuse to go home.'

Have a great anniversary.

Just to let you know the bug bites not yet DVC'ers. Dixie Landings in January and Disneyland over the 4th (which should have been enough to hold a normal person over for a year, but I don't think DVC'ers are normal, thank goodness) and then had great plans to begin our search of resales at the end of this year for our first DVC stay over X-Mas of 2002. Was not home from Disneyland more than one day when the wife said, let's go to Disneyworld over X-Mas this year. Oh my, now I have to hustle to get things in order and hopefully find a resale within a few weeks and with the luck of Disney, get a ressie for X-Mas, wish me luck.

To a future DVC member we wish you all of the luck WDW can hold. Christmas is a very good time of the year to go, and even more special when you are staying at your DVC "Home".
The best of luck from us.

Good luck Adventurer! Not only on finding the right resale but the ressies! There seems to be lots of resales listed now (not when we bought).

Hard to wait when you want all your planning all done already! And when they are - palms get itchy to plan another trip! lol catch-22:rolleyes:

SleepyatDVC...your post made me LOL!!! I love it! ME TOO!! We had a cash ressie trip planned for November and DH and I just couldn't wait! We HAD to get in before then so we went to VB and BWV in May!! It was awesome....loved the trip. And our airfare/car only cost $250. Isn't it great?? ;)

Our first DVC trip was planned for X-mas 2002. Of course I couldn't wait that long, so we made plans for DH and I to go alone for our 10th anniversary in June 2002. Of course I couldn't wait that long either, so we made plans to go to HH this November. I still have to wait 4 long months but it beats 18 months.

I, too check airfare daily for no apparant reason.

Thank goodness it's not just me!:) We have a week booked for late October this year with the in-laws.

I just couldn't wait with the airfares around $120. I used my husband's birthday as an excuse to book a long weekend over Labor Day.

I can't wait! It will be our first trip to OKW.

Kelly

It's a beautiful thing when you do that!!!!! We did that in June...we were going to be in South Carolina for a wedding...so close and yet so far...or was it???? A few phone calls later, we were in OKW in a studio for 2 nights for 20 points with a rental car for $135 and airfare of $150 round trip from Bradley Airport in CT, rather than dealing with the NY airports!!!!!!:) :)

We were going to book an extra trip this year (as we did last year...lol) but decided to buy an add on instead. Though I'd love to be in WDW right now, I know we'll enjoy the extra points more in years to come.

Last year when we made an unscheduled trip we ended up putting off our next trip until Jan. of 2002....so its been really hard waiting!
