Need advice. We are going to WDW December 13-20th. I realize that most parks will close earlier, and was wondering what are some of the things we could do in the evening hours. Thanks in advance. :)

We were down the first week of December last year. We did Fantasmic numerous times and ate dinner afterwards. Also did the CP 5 times and ate dinner before or grabbed something in the park. We also go to each hotel to see their decorations. After a full day in the parks (we take advantage of EMH) you still end up getting back to your room around 10 and a good night's sleep is the best thing I could ask for.

Resort Hop. We were there last December and spent 2 evenings checking out the other resorts. Two other evenings we dropped our DD at the Neverland Club and we went to dinner and checked out the resorts on the monorail.

Epcot WS is open until 9pm even in December.

Thanks all. I didn't realize there is so much to do after the parks close (and I though we would be bored in the evening). I love the idea about visiting the other resorts to check out decorations. Christmas is my favorite time of the year because of the decorations, so this sounds right up my alley. Again thank you for all the great ideas. Now seven days doesn't seem enought. lol :p

Trust me, there's no way you'll see it all in 7 days. We were there for 7 days in 2001, we covered most everything on our list, but we still have tons to see.

It'll take many more trips before we're able to see and do all that WDW has to offer.

Your right disneyjunkie - where was my brain? I guess I will have to go at least a 100 more times.

Take care all! :)

Another thing I like to do is get a hot chocolate and a pastry and sit under the canopy of lights between FW and WS in EPCOT and listen to the Christmas music.

Ooh! I really like the idea about the big desert and watching TV. How did you know Scarlett and Rhett that I had a sweet tooth. Chipster - again a sweet desert and sitting among christmas decorations and listening to Christmas music. It can't get any better than that. :p

But hey, it's a GOOD thing you can't do all WDW has to offer in one trip... it means you HAVE TO go back!!! :) :)

I have been numerous times... pushing 38... i think, some for 4 days and the longest we stayed was 14 nights.... still havent seen it all.

This sounds like the kind of tip that is worthy of my homemade tip sheets that I make for our trips. Thanks Chipster! Mickey

We arrive on the 14th and leave on the 21st. This is what we have planned at night. Mickey

Sunday - MVMCP
Monday - Stay at Epcot and see Illuminations!
Tuesday - Mickey's Back Yard BBQ
Wednesday - Lord of the Rings Return of the King (opening day)
Thursday - Candlelight Processional Late Show
Friday - Shopping at DTD
Saturday - stay at MK until it closes

We have gone during Thanksgiving every year for the last 8, and the parks close early. We opt for late dinners - we can maximize park time that way (no wasted minutes eating, or something silly like that). Generally, we have a nice dinner somewhere and then wander around the Boardwalk or we like to "resort hop". You can always find new & exciting things to do at the resorts. Our kids like it because they can try out a new arcade, mom likes it because she can shop at a different shop, I like it because everybody likes it.

Thanks mickeysaver and uncle al. I hope you don't mind mickeysaver if I copy cat some of your itinerary. We should arrive early enough on December 13 to take advantage of MK staying open later. Uncle al, I like the idea about maxamizing park time by eating a late dinner. With the parks closing earlier, you still would not be eating real late so no cranky family members.

Thanks again everyone for all the great ideas. Keep them coming!:)
