Hello!
We are planning to visit Kennedy Space Center after leaving the cruise (in less than 2 weeks!) and staying overnight. We have a rental car secured. Where have you stayed that you would recommend? Can be anywhere between Kennedy Space Center and MCO as we fly back out of Orlando on Sunday. Looking for affordable but CLEAN and safe. Also, if you have info on KSC that you can share, please do! Any such thing as discount tickets? Looking for info this weekend so we can finalize our plans. We are looking at Jan 23 for this one night overnight if that helps your info. Also posted on budget boards.

Thanks for any info.
Kim

KSC is awesome! Much better than I ever expected and we were there from opening until close. We have stayed in the Hampton Inn in Titusville. That is 30 minutes from the port and close to KSC. We would stay there again.

We stayed at the courtyard Marriott when we did the same thing. It was disgusting, I do not recommend

there isn't much between the port/KSC area and Orlando

so your choices are 3

stay near the port .... it gives you many dinner options

stay in Titusville near the SR-50 / 95 interchange where there are several hotels
and a few 'chain' restaurants (Cracker Barrel)

{the greater Canaveral/Cocoa/Titus' area is generally safe ..... this is small town country ....}

head to the Orlando area ..... about 40 minutes away to the airport and longer
to get to the city or Disney . . .

*******
you could have gotten FREE tickets from your congressman if you'd asked about a year ago . . .

They discontinued that process of free tickets a few years ago.
I consider Titusville the KSC area. Any recommendations on specific hotels either there or near the airport? We are not venturing any further into Orlando than that on the return trip (Disney before).

Thanks for input

If your flight on Sunday is early, you may want to head back towards MCO for the hotel. We've stayed at the Doubletree MCO (it was a standard Doubletree and about $150). The Hilton Orlando on International drive is also not too far and has a nice pool, but it will be more expensive.

For KSC discounts, if you are a military family you may be able to get discounted tickets from your local MWR.

Thanks for the input. Flight isn't until 2pm and no active military.

If you're looking for restaurant recommendations in the Titusville area, try Dixie Crossroads. They're famous and worth the trip if you like seafood.

Thank you! We prefer "local" places (not chains) like this for dinner so we'll check this out.
