Thanks! Im sure we will be at MK on the 11th. As you will find out soon in the trip report even tho we had all these amazing 'other park' plans, the MK kept calling our name!

Great report so far. I can't wait to read the rest. Your family is adorable!! Getting to read your first trip with your little ones is wonderful. Subbing.

Traci did you have your surgery? How are you doing?

Anticipating the next chapter of your report as well.

Yes, I did, Thanks for asking. It was 15 days ago and I am feeling much better. I have been off of the medication for 6 days. The lifting restriction is hard for me. Its hard not to be able to do the things I normally do.

Again, thanks for asking. We (Adam) are tying another chapter of the trip report right now and will post it in a bit. :Pinkbounc

Glad everything went well. Yeah, I remember having issues not being able to use both hands and especially my dominate arm. I was glad to be off the pain pump meds. The doc gave me vicodin, but I only used it to sleep.

Have you started PT yet? I remember the first week or so, was nothing but stretching. The pain felt good. I was surprised at how quickly my muscles atrophied and how weak I was when we started the real therapy.

I on a side note, I'm having pain again and went back to the doc this past week. Its been almost a 1 1/2 years since my surgery. I'm going back for an MRI soon. Doc says he doesn't believe to be as serious, but wants to see whats going on and rule some things out.

Glad you are doing well.:yay:

Oh WOW, I cant believe you are having issues again. Thats awful! I have started therapy. Its not too bad. I actually feel pretty good. I can do things without hurting too bad and therefore am tempted to do them. I was told this week by thye Dr that the swelling I have is from doing too much. I have been pushing my stroller and shopping carts, not knowing I wasnt supposed to (the therapist said I could do anything that didnt cause pain)

We didnt post the Chapter last night, sorry - we will today! Thanks

Day 2 - 6/9/10 - Mother's Day - Chef Mickey's for Breakfast

We all slept like logs. The girls had not moved and were still in the same position as they were when we tucked them in last night! The thickness of hotel curtains always makes the room so dark it's hard to wake up.

Traci's iPhone alarm went off at 6:15am, which would give us just over an hour to get ready and walk down to Chef Mickey's for a 7:35am breakfast reservation. Traci showered while I tidied up the room a little while the kids continued sleeping (can't believe they were able to sleep through, guess yesterday had really knocked them out).

Traci had put baby Piglet stuffed animal in front of the alarm clock that came with the room to reduce the glare and so I put the it back on the shelf with the other toys when I noticed the time on the clock.

:scared1:7:30am :scared1:

I ran into the bathroom and told Traci what time it really was and that we needed to hustle if we were gonna get to our res on time.

* I later realized that the reason our iPhones had not automatically updated the time was because we had turned that feature off because of where we live there's a short period where our time zone doesn't update to daylight savings time, so we had turned off the auto-update but had forgotten to turn it back on again. *

So we had to wake up the kids and quickly get them dressed in a much more chaotic fashion than we had planned. We were out the door by 7:45am and at the Chef Mickey's entrance by 7:55am. We were pretty pleased with ourselves that we had managed to get to our reservation within the 20 minute grace time. We would later find out we had left our KTTW cards back in our room. Oops!

We got our portrait taken after we checked in and then were taken to our table. We got a great table in a really nice little nook, just off from the main room. Traci went off to fix the kids plates, I took drink orders - chocolate milk for the kids, orange juice and coffee for Traci and me, and the girls enjoyed the view of the lake while they waited for their food to arrive.

We were dying to try the orange juice - we have heard lots of good things about it. It was delicious.

Chef Mickey's was actually serving brunch today because it was Mother's Day. There was a soup and salad bar set up and they were also serving an oven roasted bone-in ham, chicken florentine with italian sausage, parmesan mashed potatoes and other yummy things that we can't remember. Traci got some chicken and rice dish.

Since joining Dis I have read many posts about Mickey waffles so I had made up my mind to try them at the first opportunity. I got a big plateful and drenched them in syrup!

My mouth is watering as I post these pics. Seriously. :rotfl:

About half way through our meal, the characters started showing up.

(There's annoying smudge on the lens in some of these pics. SOMEONE had touched it with their greasy little paws :rolleyes1)

Paris loved Donald's butt so I snapped a quick picture and hoped he wouldn't notice!

As you can see, Max wasn't scared at all

After the characters came and went, we finished our breakfast and decided to head back to get our refillable mugs, get changed into cooler clothes and hit Magic Kingdom

 So glad I happened upon your TR! What a delightful family! Your children are precious. :lovestruc

It is so refreshing to see parents who remember to slow down and let everyone enjoy - very special. ::yes::

Your PTR brings back wonderful memories of our first trip to WDW in late August, 1981 also at the CR, so I can relate to finding the room and monorail that first day.

We were in the then North Wing, 3rd fl, about half way down. Imagine our surprise when we pulled back the drapes and saw the monorail gliding by!! My children were 7 & 8 and we took a friend for each, but think I was just as excited! Fortunately we traveled light ;) , did not need strollers and no bag checks in those days. Ahh, such simpler times! :goodvibes

Like you, we planned a return trip a few mos later (in March). We wanted to try the Polynesian, which became our favorite resort (did I miss where you'll be staying in Sept?), then in the following July back the CR, wanting to try the Tower (MK view was only a request back then - we lucked out not even asking!).

Nothing like a 1st visit!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us - can't wait to read more. :goodvibes

Traci, glad you are healing well and not in too much pain.:grouphug:
