After An Entire Year Of Planning We Winged It! May '10 with 1477 pics 3/26/11 update

Great shots of the room, it looks spectacular!

You gotta love those stepsisters don't ya:lmao: When we visited in January they were giving my DD17 and her boyfriend a hard time. I was laughing so hard I was crying....older kids don't always get as much attention from the characters, but these ones I must say went all out with mine!!!!

ok all caught up, your kids are Adorable :)

Your arrival story had me cracking up, that would've been something fun to experience, not at the time I'm sure, but afterward...I often get lost and frustrated at first, but always have a good laugh after.

Can't wait to see what the rest of day one brings.

We really liked our room. Traci especially liked the lighted area under the TV that looks like a fireplace. Very warm and cozy.

Thank you!

Definitely not fun while it's happening! But funny to think about later on for sure.

It was about 9:30pm as we were leaving 1900 Park Fare and by now we were all pretty tired and ready for bed. There's something very inviting about a freshly made, tightly tucked hotel bed and we were all looking forward to getting some rest.

We found an empty carriage on the monorail and settled down for the short ride back to our hotel. Brooklyn got to try out her new light-up princess dress.

You may have noticed by now that Brooklyn goes all out when it comes to dressing up and Paris is much more into comfort, as you can tell by her minimalist outfits! Brooklyn has been known to scrunch her feet into way-too-small dress up shoes in her quest to be a princess :lmao: No way would Paris sacrifice her comfort for that!

We got off the monorail in the Contemporary, hopped on the stair-o-lator (you'll learn what this is later on if you don't figure it out before then! :lmao:) down to level 2. This was the first time we had been on level 2 and we didn't realize there was another escalator so we walked around a bit and noticed the elevator that is next to what we now realize is the California Grill check in desk. There was a doorman (actually it was a lady) who greeted us politely and asked us if we were going up to the California Grille. We said this was our first day and that we were actually trying to find our way down to the lobby. She then informed us that this was the elevator to the California Grill and that even though we didn't eat there, if we wanted she would take us up to the Observation Deck to watch Wishes, which was about to start in 3 minutes. We thought this was a really thoughtful gesture and tired though we were, the girls jumped at the chance to see the fireworks so up we went! By this time Max was well awake and we all got a second wind. The air up on the deck smelled so fresh and there was a light breeze - not muggy at all.

Max sat in his stroller, still as a mouse, watching the fireworks. This was the first time he has properly seen fireworks so he was spell-bound. The girls also really enjoyed the show. With about 5 minutes left, one of the girls needed to go potty so we took that as our cue to head back to our room. By that time we were ready to go, even though we were enjoying the show.

It had been a long, exciting day and we knew we needed to get some sleep ready for another day of excitement and an early start at Chef Mickey's.

Oh my I have to eat there someday! I was wondering where the stepsisters were hiding! Maybe if we got next year unless we are expecting then that will changes things of course! That's so great! I learn about new places each time I visit a TR on here!

Too bad Brooklyn got sick! I can't wait to read more! I would have been just like Maxwell and knocked out before dinner or should I say desert?

Aw, what a great TR! You guys are certainly having a magical first trip and it is only day one! :goodvibes

Your family is adorable and I am enjoying everything so far. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to read more...:thumbsup2

Awesome Trip Report! We were there May 14-19th...and boy, it WAS hot and humid!!! Looking forward to reading more popcorn::

I love Crystal Palace and next trip I really want to try it for breakfast!

Breakfast is delightful and you will not be disappointed. Make sure to choose some of the Pooh french toast puffs. They are on the children's buffet, but are too good to be missed.

Awww, I love hearing about all those magical moments with your kids! Getting to wear the princess dresses (despite their different style/comfort choices!), meeting the characters, and then ending the night with a fireworks show sounds just absolutely wonderful! Disney is one of the reasons why I want to have kids!

Great report, joining in. I currently work at the Contemporary, so I am really curious about your experience there too.

Enjoying your TR so far! I am going in Sept with a 4 year old, so I always appreciate hearing TRs with kids involved. Your kids are so cute! :yay:

There is nothing like viewing Wishes from the observation deck!! Sounds like a wonderful end to an evening

Yep, It ended up being my favorite of all the character meals. Even though I wasn't hungry, I loved every minute of it.

That's so great that you got an extra bit of magic and got to go up see and the fireworks! :)
pixiedust:pixiedust: We thought so too! Stay posted, we have even more magic to share. pixiedust:pixiedust:

.
It was really hot the day we got there and also the next day (May 8 & 9) :sunny: but then it was less humid the rest of the stay.

We have Crystal Palace ADRs for our next trip but its dinner this time. Ill keep those puffs in mind for another time though. (you are not the only person I have heard mention them!)

Yes, It was quite magical. It was so fun letting them 'dress up' for meals and I have to say even Maxwell liked wearing pixie dust spray on his skin and hair! (he called it 'pickey ducks') hee hee

You do? WOW, thanks for reading. What is your job there? I have to say that we loved our stay there even though we had a few problems (you will read about later)
:welcome:

Yep, it was a perfect day!

And Brooklyn just loved Prince Charming...

... especially when he took her hand, kissed it and said "hello Princess". She said "can you believe this just happened". It was a really magical moment. This was one of those times I mentioned earlier about how you can easily miss moments because you're up at the buffet getting food. So glad Traci got to see it though.

Brooklyn & Paris both call him Prince Charmy. I love that & I don't even try to correct them. :lovestruc

Just caught up, love your TR!!

Your children are so lovely, you must be very proud!

Can't wait for your next installment:thumbsup2

We are going back in September! What are your dates? Where are you staying?
