Day 2 - 6/9/10 - Mother's Day - Chef Mickey's for Breakfast

We got our portrait taken after we checked in and then were taken to our table. We got a great table in a really nice little nook, just off from the main room. Traci went off to fix the kids plates, I took drink orders - chocolate milk for the kids, orange juice and coffee for Traci and me, and the girls enjoyed the view of the lake while they waited for their food to arrive.

Adam,

You forgot to mention that they were passing flowers out to the Moms for Mothers Day. I thought that was nice. I got 3! :daisy: :flower1: :rose:

Day 2 - 5/9/10

On our way back to our room we stopped by the Contempo Cafe to get our refillable mugs - cue the obligatory mug picture!

Once we got back to our room, the kids and I thought it would be a good time to give Traci her Mother's Day gift.

It's the Mickey bracelet of course!

Oh, I forgot to mention that we left some pixie dust for when we got back to our room after breakfast. Our trick for leaving pixie dust in the room so its there when we get back to our room goes like this:

1. I leave the hotel room with the kids, usually in their strollers.
2. Traci hangs back in the room and quickly arranges the toys/pixie dust on the bed typically, then she joins us outside and we are on our way.

The nice thing about doing it this way is that the pixie dust just magically appears for the kids when we get back to our room and they know we didn't do it because they were with us the whole time :rolleyes1

So, anyhow, back to that morning's pixie dust.

Dark eyed baby for Paris and the blue eyed baby for Brooklyn. They have really cute mouths! The kids loved them of course, especially Paris because she loves anything in miniature.

While the kids played with their new toys we called down to the front desk and had our box of supplies delivered. We had Fedexed a 30lbs box ahead of time with all our cosmetics mainly, diapers, wipes etc.

We unpacked about half of our stuff and got ourselves organized before heading out to Magic Kingdom for our first proper visit!

Next up... the Kingdom

of course we did!!! :woohoo: it's funny because the kids are not used to that kind of rambunctiousness when we go out to eat at home! that's what vacations are for, right!?

What a nice mothers day gift. I'm slightly jealous. Very nice. :)

Can't wait to see your MK day :cool1::banana:

Cute idea bout the pixie gifts

Oh, I just love the bracelet! What a wonderful Mother's Day gift!

And I love the Pixie Dust idea. So cute!

Ohhhh that bracelet is gorgeous!!! I love the pixie dust idea too, what a great idea.

Thanks! I love it too! The girls at work were making fun of me for wearing it outside Disney World. What do they know, right?

I'm jumping on....great trip report so far! I can't wait to read about the rest of the trip. I'm so glad the Crystal Palace was able to seat you. I also loved all your pictures from 1900 Park Fare. I'm thinking about making an ADR there for our next trip.

Clearly they don't have a clue of what they speak:lmao: I bought a beautiful watch that has 2 Mickey heads that I leave one on Orlando time and one on CST...people make fun of me all the time....I just say "you don't get the magic!" :rotfl2:

That sounds like a really cute watch. When Adam was still in England, I had a watch that had two faces and I used to keep one on his time and one on mine. Maybe I need to get it back out and use it as my Disney time reminder!

Um, yeah - they don't get the magic. I work with a bunch of girls who don't get the magic, either! They make fun of me all of the time.

welcome! we really liked 1900 park fare. it was our first dinner ADR so that always makes it special but looking back, after having been to quite a few character meals by the end of the trip, I have to say that 1900 had really good character interaction. prince charming, cinderella and the sisters took their time with the kids - we didn't feel like they rushed at all. they stopped at our table and chatted, it wasn't a "quick-pose-then-on-to-the-next-table" kinda feeling at all, one that i did get at a few other places unfortunately. prince charming and cinderella also danced in the middle of the room part way through and then called up all the little princesses (and princes!) to dance too. that extra interaction was really appreciated. 1900 is definitely on our list of top must-do's for our next trip.

i'm sure you will love it as much as we did.

Stop! You're making me wish I had a girl!!!! :goodvibes

Sorry that we have not posted lately. We promise to soon. Its been busy lately!

Thanks!!

Hello! Got our Photo Pass pictures back a week or so ago so I can include those pics as this trip report unfolds.

To catch us all up, here is our very first Photo Pass pic. It's just Brooklyn, Paris and me, taken during the 3pm parade in Magic Kingdom. If you remember, the girls and I had wandered across the bridge opposite Crystal Palace to explore while Traci went and changed Maxwell, and happened upon the parade and a Photo Pass guy.

To pick up where we left off.... we had just given Traci her Mother's Day gift and the girls got those cute little baby dolls.

I forgot to mention the ordeal with our KTTW cards, which we had left in our room accidentally when we left for breakfast. Well, after breakfast at Chef Mickey's we had to stop by the lobby and get Traci a new card. No problem, great - very easy and quick to do. No hassles at all. So we were able to get into our room ok, open presents etc. By then we were ready to hit Magic Kingdom for a while before lunch at Kona Cafe.

So what did we do? Yep - we took Traci's inactivated card to Magic Kingdom! :thumbsup2 So the kids and I went through the turnstiles while Traci went to Guest Services to get yet another new card! The lady drew a little Mickey on the card and said to make sure we use this one from now on because the other will be inactive. Traci got another Mother's Day rose by Guest Services, which made up for the hassle a little.

So finally..... we're ready to explore Magic Kingdom! Coming up next, fun at Magic Kingdom and lunch at Kona Cafe.

Argh! The hassle with the KTTW would have driven me crazy! LOL! The little mickey head drawn on the new one was a great idea! Can't wait to hear more!
