Afraid of Crowds

I am going to US/IOA from Friday, 11/26 to Sunday 11/28 and I am afraid of the crowds!! I usually steer clear of WDW after T-day so I chose to do US/IOA first and WDW the week after. No, we're not staying on property.

I know that this year's crowds are unprecedented because of HP, but can anyone guess how bad it will be in IOA and/or US? I have read that Friday and Saturdays are generally busier than Sundays so we might have to wait for WWoHP until Sunday. Any other tips or suggestions? We are thinking of buying the express pass thing on Saturday since the parks are open the longest on that day (yes, I know this won't work for HP attractions).

Be assured that the crowds will be huge those days. I would buy the express pass if I were going during those days. Enjoy your visit.

If they can. That is a very busy weekend and Express usually sells out. It's not uncommon for EXPRESS lines to be >20 minutes and Regular lines to be 60-90+

Should I be buying express in advance of travel? Or do you think I will be able to get them early in the morning on that day?

Normally I would suggest waiting until you arrive but considering when you're going, you might want to go ahead and purchase them online. Just make sure you are going that day...EPs are non-refundable and date specific.
