Aerial view of Kidani- From DVCNEWS.com

Looking at Kidani Village from above gives a lot of perspective on how big it's going to be. Better get your walkin' shoes on!

Also, in this picture you get a good perspective of the pool, water play area, and what I believe will be Community Hall. Towards the bottom left of this picture you can see the pool cut out of the ground as well as a round cut out which I believe will be Community Hall along with other amenities.

Well....

Off the top of my head a few things come to mind:
1. Animals
2. Extra bathrooms in the 1BR & 2BR villas
3. Grand Villas with two stories of glass overlooking the savanna

On another note, the GVs will be in those locations on the photos where you see a two story opening on the 4th and 5th floors. Here is the diagram of how they'll look from the outside among the other units in a segment - the GV has that peaked roof over it:

There are reported to be 16 GVs planned for Kidani. With these aerial shots I can make out about 10 of them I believe - anyone see any more? I'm wondering if they'll have any on the back of the northern segments which would face the new savanna?

I was curious...at the moment there seems to be walkways or paths leading from the back of the Kidani lobby to Jambo (I am sure they are for savannah maintenace or construction purposes). Do you think they are going to provide some sort of interior direct path? Or do you think you would have to walk around the whole exterior of AKV to get to AKL?

Pictures like those make you realize its size. The days of the complaint about the "long walk down the hall at the Boardwalk" to get to the elevator and lobby are over. That walk from the end of Kidani just to the Kidani lobby will dwarf anything at BW. AKV is the new king. The walk from the end of Kidani to Jambo entrance will likely be close to a mile. You will only be able to walk in the front of the building; those paths you see are part of the svanna and forworkers only and for the most part were actually already there as part of sunset savanna..

Those buildings on the parking lot side closest to AKL are half size buildings -- they will only have rooms facing the savanna.

As to question above as to how they will fill all those rooms -- hey, this is DVC, if they build it, we will come. Also, from a personal view, this is starting to look grand.

As to stairways and elevators, it will likely be like AKL -- lobby area elevator and then another about midway down each wing and some starways but, for the most part, those won't take you outside (whereever there is a savanna, there will be no outside exit).

We were also wondering about any kind of connecting structure between the two buildings. Or will you have to walk all the way around and through the parking lot when you want to go to the other building?

It should be just like AKL -- for everything that faces a savanna, there is no exit on the ground floor except for designated viewing areas. The animals are kept away from the immediate area of the building by low level electrical barriers (little things shaped like small bushes with spikes sticking up) that run along the savanna side of that path that divides the building from the savanna. They do not allow any guests out there both because of safety and it avoids any risk of someone trying to feed the animals without being seen. Unless they were to put up a walled pathway, you are only going to find a walkway in front of the buildings. They have said before the walkway will go from front entrance area of Jambo to the front entrance area of Kidani (meaning along the front of the buildings) and that the distance from door to door will be about 1/2 mile.

WOW, thanks so much for posting these. It sure is large. I've tried several sites to see an updated aerial, and I haven't been able to find anything with any Kidani construction - so this was awesome. It makes me so anxious to see it all in person in just 84 days! I just wish it were sooner...

I am amazed at how large it is. I would say getting a Savanna room should not be a problem. :goodvibes Or maybe it will, who knows? This is so exciting. I can't wait for it to be finished. It is going to be Grand!;)

If you watch the current DVC DVD for people interested in buying..they keep referring to the AKL as "nearby" Kidani Village. They also talk about using the restaurants and such at AKL. I would hope they put in some kind of walkway!

The walkway should be from the front lobby of Kidani Village to the front lobby of Jambo House. The DVC member site says 1/2 mile.

I'm sure Kidani Village will share bus service with Jambo House. You maybe able to take a bus between the two buildings. Kidani Village maybe the first stop and Jambo the second stop. We won't know for sure until closer to the opening of Kidani Village
