There is a rectangular white building shown in the Epcot post in #2279 behind and to the right of the old Universe of Energy. This is also shown as a second #3 in post #2344. Is this for GotG or something else? It looks a bit odd and out of place the way it is right now.

That is the GOTG rollercoaster building.

the patina group (I believe?) actually cited this as an excuse for why the restaurant has taken as long as it has if my memory is serving me correctly. I want to say that they claimed they were having more trouble than they had expected with sound dampening.

That was an un-substantiated rumor, and the restaurant isn't progressing any slower then any other Disney project.

Fair enough about the speed of the build, seems to always have been "prior to the 50th".

However, I just found the article that I am referring to (and I know you know the source) and it was never reported as a rumor nor was that story ever disputed that I can recall or retracted by them, so?

The article was on WDWNT which doesn't have a lot of credibility.

Thanks for the info. It's a bit odd that it doesn't appear to be directly connected to the old Energy building. Any idea what will be in the original building? It seems way too big to just hold the GoTG queue.

The old building will contain the queue, pre-show, load and unload. They have already started to build the structure that will connect the two buildings.

These are really good MK aerials, I wonder if he got permission to fly in the restricted space, or is above the restricted space with a really good camera.
They usually allow a short period of time with permission every so often.

With authorization you can get a short clearance time to fly over. It’s typically very short.
Must be short and pretty rare as I don’t remember having seen this many views at such a close range.
