Hi all,

We're considering attending this year's Food and Wine Festival and wanted to hear what others think. Is it best to attend in late September or October? How are the crowds? Do you go and attend MNSSHP too?

Thanks!

We've been there early to mid October the past two years, returning the first week of Oct. this year. The weather in my experience ranges from warm to hot, and it does get crowded, but not like Christmas or mid-summer. The W&F festival is great, definitely worth going for, and we've attended two MNSSHP's and had a great time, also worth it.

The F&W fest doesn't start until the first weekend of October, so if you go in September you'll be too early. It's definitely worth doing - we visit every year!

Dh and I were at the F & W Festival last year in Nov. it was coming to an end but we enjoyed it. Looking forward to visiting it again this year.

I attended last year the first week of October. I did not think the crowds were too bad at all, but it definitely was hot :) I did a few of the free seminars as well as the Party of the Senses. I also did MNSSHP one night.

I enjoyed it so much, I am going back this year! It is definitely worth it.

Actually the F&W starts September 29 for 2006 so you could go at the very end of September.

We went last year, pretty much every weekend and never had a problem with crowds...it was actually a lot less busy than most other months. Late October and Early November is our favorite time of year. The weather wasn't bad, but if you live in Florida mid-80's are cool...the humidity doesn't seem quite as bad and there is more of a breeze...I'd recommend early October, we were surprised with how empty some of the parks were...like MK and Epcot...

As for the food, we loved walking through and checking out what each country had. Prices range from 3 to 6 dollars for a small portion, but the ability to try what you like or what you may never try was fantastic...got me hooked on sushi in Japan!

We especially enjoyed the beer around the world tents..although we missed the free beer class....I'm still sad about that!!

Check into the classes, I've heard they are wonderful and some of them free.

I would recommend this time of year probably over any other if you are adverse to the heat, but beware that one day can be unseasonably warm and the next cool enough to wear a jacket...

If you decide to go, I hope you have a great time!! We always do!!

we were there last year and it was in November. There were crowds but the lines that you waited on for samples went by pretty fast.

We went last year for F&W in Oct. and had a great time! Sampling the foods is the best. We didn't do any sit down meals, just noshed around the world. They have bands playing too. Starship was playing that weekend. Tried to do MNSSHP but got rained out by Wilma.
